Arsenal Newsnow: After openly expressing his wish to leave Brighton, Leandro Trossard was supposedly offered to Arsenal this month
Arsenal Newsnow: While Mikel Arteta continues to look for a new striker, The Independent reports that Arsenal can sign Leandro Trossard. Since Arsenal was unable to sign top target Mykhaylo Mudryk, who has signed with Chelsea, the Belgian international may be considered.
Midway through the January transfer window, Arsenal still has a lot of work to do. Mikel Arteta is still interested in making additions that would strengthen the team and help them win the Premier League.
Arsenal is eight points ahead of second-place Manchester City after their away victory over Tottenham. As a unit, the starting eleven has done very well thus far this year. But strong offensive depth is desperately needed. The Gunners’ bench is depleted due to injuries sustained by Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith Rowe, who has just recently returned from his own.
Arsenal Newsnow: What’s the report?
After missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk, a winger they had been pursuing for some time, the need is dire. After negotiating with Shakhtar Donetsk, Chelsea was able to increase the salary they were paying him compared to what Arsenal was offering.
Aside from Raphinha, they have investigated other potential targets. The Brazilian, though, plans to remain in Barcelona and continue competing for a starting role. Meanwhile, Arsenal has been promised Leandro Trossard as a means of prying him away from Brighton. Having had a falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi, the 28-year-old Belgian international is eager to quit the club.

There is speculation that Tottenham will also participate. But an offer from Arsenal may be a game-changer for the 28-year-old Belgian international. This season he has been productive for the Seagulls, scoring seven times (including a hat trick against Anfield).
A verbal bid from Tottenham was previously rejected by Brighton. This may give the Gunners an indication of how much he may end up costing. Trossard is nearing the conclusion of his contract’s summer expiration. According to reports, the Seagulls have the option to make it a two-year deal.

What’s next for the Gunners?
Trossard might be an effective signing for Arsenal as they search for a wide attacker. Whether or if Arteta considers him an excellent signing, though, is crucial. The Belgian is a veteran of the Premier League. The Gunners have lately favoured signing players of a younger profile. So a transfer for the Brighton star is still unlikely.
Arsenal lost out on Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. But according to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, agents are now attempting to “present solutions” to the club. Mudryk, a Ukraine international, signed an eight-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea on the field at halftime of Sunday’s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace. The Gunners seemed to be in the driver’s seat for Mudryk for weeks. But then Chelsea reportedly offered twice the amount that Arsenal was willing to pay to sign him.
