Arsenal Transfer News; Arsenal, currently atop the Premier League table, allegedly has their sights set on signing both Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo during the next summer transfer window. However, they may face competition for Rice from Manchester United
Arsenal Transfer News: Reporter Ben Jacobs (via Give Me Sport) claims that after failing to buy Moises Caicedo in January, Arsenal would make signing England star and Man United target Declan Rice their top priority for the next summer transfer window. As the January transfer window came to a close, Mikel Arteta and company were kept quite busy. An extensive knee injury sustained by Mohamed Elneny may force him to sit out the remainder of the season. After hearing the awful news, Arsenal decided to make a hurried winter signing in the middle of the field.
Despite Caicedo’s public pleas for his present club to allow him leave the Amex and seek a tremendous chance at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners had two offers for him denied. Despite Arsenal’s best efforts, Brighton maintained their “not for sale” position. The Ecuador international remained on the south coast when the transfer deadline passed.
Finally, Mikel Arteta’s squad reached an agreement with Chelsea on the last day of the transfer window. Thus paying £10 million plus an additional £2 million in add-ons for the Italian midfielder to join them on an 18-month contract. Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey will both turn 31 this year. Jorginho, at 31, is hardly a long-term answer to Arsenal’s aging midfield.
Arsenal Transfer News: What’s the matter?
Since this is the case, technical director Edu may want to strengthen the team’s midfield during the next summer transfer window. According to Jacobs, the Gunners have made a deal for Declan Rice as their top summer transfer target. However they may also make another effort for Caicedo.
With just 18 months remaining on his contract, Rice has rejected down many new contract offers to stay at the London Stadium. The East London club has now come to terms with the fact that they must sell Rice next summer or risk losing a substantial profit.
Where will Declan Rice move to?
West Ham made it apparent last summer that Rice would command a transfer price far in excess of £100 million. Hammers manager David Moyes recently declared that Rice would “blow the British transfer record out of the water” if he were to leave the club this summer. After bungled attempts to sign Caicedo and Mykhaylo Mudryk, Arsenal should have plenty of cash to spend. For the West Ham midfielder, the prospect of playing in the Champions League next season is a major selling point for a move to Manchester United.
United manager Erik ten Hag showed interest in signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona last summer, and that desire hasn’t faded. It’s possible that Rice is a great backup plan. He and Casemiro might start together while Eriksen saw some bench time.
To many of the league’s greatest teams, Rice would be the perfect holding midfielder. For maximum profit, West Ham will likely encourage a bidding battle between Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal for their prized asset.
