According to many reports, Arsenal and Manchester United are both interested in acquiring Molde midfielder Sivert Mannsverk
French publication Jeunes Footeux claims that Premier League teams Arsenal and Manchester United are monitoring Norwegian international Sivert Mannsverk. To part ways with the promising young midfielder, Molde will need a Norwegian record sale of €10 million.
The Norwegian midfield star has developed into a key player for Molde and has had a great 2022/23 season. Four of Mannsverk’s goals have come in 40 total games played. Major Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United have taken notice of the youngster due to his impressive development.
In the offseason, Arsenal strengthened the midfield by acquiring Fabio Vieira. Mikel Arteta is still keen to add a new central midfielder to the team. Understandably, Arsenal will want to strengthen their defence after Albert Sambi Lokonga’s disappointing performance.
Where will Sivert Mannsverk move to?
This has led to Arsenal’s interest in a number of midfielders, notably Ivan Ilic. On the other hand, Sivert Mannsverk is a player the north London team may pursue. To acquire the Norwegian midfield prodigy, Arsenal will have to beat off Manchester United.
Manchester United is experiencing severe financial difficulties. They will be unable to make any significant transfers in the month of January. Enzo Fernandez, another major target, wants to sign with Chelsea this winter. And since Molde is expected to want around €10 million for Mannsverk, the twenty-year-old is a reasonable alternative. Manchester United’s positive relationship with the Norwegian club makes a transfer in January plausible.
The midfield star from Norway will set a new record for the priciest sale in the country’s history at €10 million. As for Arsenal and Manchester United, it will be intriguing to see whether they are prepared to spend that much in January. The two Premier League teams should seriously evaluate the kid as a potential alternative at this time.
Mannsverk has shown his worth over the course of 25 league matches this year. His rating is 7.02 and he definitely enjoys being in charge of the ball, as he averages 62.8 touches per game.
The 20-year-old has shown he can be a dangerous offensive threat from the center of the field, with 0.7 critical passes, three huge opportunities created, and a remarkable 79% success rate on dribbles.
While Mannsverk plays a more central role than Odegaard, he still has the skills that might help Arsenal’s offense generate several scoring opportunities for his colleagues. The trio of Odegaard, Thomas Partey, and Granit Xhaka that Arteta usually starts in the middle has done a great job this season. But the trio lacks depth.
