Manchester United Set To Sign Mason Mount; Manchester City Pursue Mateo Kovacic Amid Midfield Revamp

€37 Million Transfer Target Wants To Move To Manchester United - CHECK OUT THE DETAILS

Manchester United has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Mason Mount and is now expected to secure the signing of the Chelsea midfielder. Simultaneously, Chelsea has granted permission for Manchester City to enter talks with Mateo Kovacic, indicating another significant departure from Stamford Bridge.

These developments mark the beginning of a major overhaul at Chelsea, with the club focusing on offloading players before new head coach Mauricio Pochettino can make additions to his squad.

Mason Mount, a target for Liverpool and Arsenal as well, signing for Manchester United would be a significant blow to Jurgen Klopp’s plans. Klopp has identified Mount, along with Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister, as key midfield targets as he looks to rebuild his team. Arsenal, on the other hand, is actively pursuing Mount’s close friend and West Ham United captain, Declan Rice, who is also a target for Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel.

Mason Mount’s Impending Move To Manchester United

Manchester United has yet to agree on a transfer fee for Mount, but reports suggest that United manager Erik ten Hag is confident in persuading the 24-year-old to join and is actively pushing the club’s hierarchy to finalize the deal. Ten Hag sees Mount as one of two crucial signings for the upcoming window and intends to deploy him as a No. 8. The other signing he desperately desires is a striker, with his primary target being Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Positive talks regarding Mount have taken place in recent days, gaining momentum after Chelsea and Manchester United faced each other last Thursday. Personal terms do not appear to be a stumbling block in the negotiations. Consequently, it would be a significant setback for Ten Hag if Mount fails to sign for Manchester United.

Mount, currently injured, participated in Chelsea’s end-of-season lap of appreciation after the team’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on Sunday, seemingly bidding farewell and marking the end of a disappointing campaign. With one year left on his contract at Chelsea, it seems highly likely that the England international will depart the club.

Chelsea aims to extract the highest possible fee for Mount rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer. The club’s priority is to balance the books and reduce the size of their squad. Arsenal and Liverpool have had some interest in his services too!!

Manchester City’s Interest In Mateo Kovacic And Midfield Revamp

Kovacic is in a strong position to determine his next move, and his experience, quality, and price make him an attractive option for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. Guardiola aims to refresh his midfield and is an avid admirer of Kovacic. The extent of Manchester City’s midfield revamp in the window is likely to be influenced by the futures of Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva. Although Manchester United had also expressed interest in signing Jude Bellingham, they seem to have lost out to Real Madrid in securing the young talent.

With Guardiola keen to retain both Gundogan and Silva, the club has offered them new contracts, signaling their importance to the team’s future plans. Manchester United and Manchester City are actively preparing for the upcoming transfer window, with the clear objective of bolstering their squads and competing at the highest level.
