According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with William Saliba’s agent about a possible summer transfer from Arsenal
Reports from Media Foot suggest that PSG is eyeing a summer transfer for Arsenal defender William Saliba. The central defender may be willing to return to France to compete for a regular starting position with Les Bleus. However, Mikel Arteta may be an obstacle to progress.
Despite rumours to the contrary, manager Mikel Arteta has started Saliba in all 14 Premier League games thus far this season. The Arsenal defender has been back with the team for three years after first signing with the club. But his future with the club is still quite uncertain.
Arsenal is attempting to extend Saliba’s contract beyond its current expiration date of 2024. According to reports, both parties are eager to commit to a new contract. The Gunners are optimistic that they can reach an agreement. But no agreement has been reached as of yet. Therefore his future remains wide open.
PSG is eyeing the 21-year-old Arsenal defender with an eye on making a summer transfer. The Parisians have apparently been in contact with the player’s representation to discuss a potential transfer. Luis Campos is interested in signing the French international.

Will William Saliba move away from the Emirates?
According to the rumour, Saliba is willing to go to PSG in order to strengthen his position on the France national team. While on the squad, the Arsenal defender saw little action as Argentina prevailed 4-2 on penalties against France in the World Cup final.

Saliba allegedly believes that if he plays for a domestic team, he would have a better chance of earning a spot on the national team. He wanted to move up the ranks because he was tired of being third or fourth in line behind Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate.

Arteta poses a significant obstacle for PSG in their pursuit of Saliba. Furthermore, Les Parisiens are not prepared to spend a hefty sum to get the Arsenal defender. And I have no doubt that Arteta will do all in his power to keep Saliba in the Emirates.
Although Saliba is positioned to become a stalwart at Arsenal for the foreseeable future, he may find a home at PSG. The future of any conjecture about his career hinges on whether or not he signs the new agreement with the Emirates.
