Arsenal has been chasing West Ham for weeks now, in an attempt to sign Declan Rice. The Gunners finally got the deal over the line. The Hammers’ skipper will be moving to the Emirates and playing for Mikel Arteta’s side from the upcoming season. And though the North London giants had to pay a fee of £100m for it, their focus was just to sign him.
Now that the deal is complete, the player will play for Arsenal. And it seems that talks are not over just yet. But not for Declan Rice. West Ham wants to sign a Gunner and as per a latest report, it is not Eddie Nketiah anymore!!
The Latest Player That West Ham Wants To Sign From Arsenal!!
The Hammers are now looking to sign Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares. The 23-year-old young Portuguese defender was on loan at Marseille in the previous campaign. And he seems surplus to Arsenal’s needs.
Tavares has not been good with the ball at his feet on several occasions. Though he has grown since his first spell with Arsenal, there is still a long way to go for him. And at present, Gooners across the globe don’t really have the patience for him.
They want to see some serious changes and results. And that could mean the end of his time at the Emirates. It all now depends on Mikel Arteta and co. and what plans they have for the player. On thing that is on his side is that he is still very young.
This could help his case and the Spanish boss might consider loaning him instead. There are many possibilities to this deal. However, it all depends on what Arteta wants and expects from the player. If there is some purpose of having him, then Arteta may look to keep him.
Otherwise, his time at Arsenal could be all-but over. Whether he goes to West Ham or to some other club on loan or is sold, remains to be seen!!
Have We Seen The Best Of Nuno Tavares Thus Far!? Clearly Not!!
Tavares is quite young and Arteta and Edu bought him for a reason. However, we have not been able to see the best of him so far. He is having a hard time in trying to make a name for himself.
Despite that, if the Gunners keep faith in him, things can change. But, the new policy that Arsenal has adapted in recent times, may seen him make a switch. The North Londoners are now buying quite a few players to add more quality to their squad.
Champions League football is all set to return to Arsenal next season. And the fans want to have a strong team going into the campaign. There needs to be more quality on the bench. It is what cost the Gunners the League last season. They will not want to repeat that mistake again.
And for that purpose, Arsenal has been really aggressive in the transfer window already. They are keen on getting deals done quickly, before the pre-season starts. It will be interesting to see how many players leave the club, though quite a few might be joining the team for sure!!
