Arsenal has been encouraged to reject a transfer for Cristiano Ronaldo in favor of acquiring a striker from a Premier League competitor in the next January transfer window. After suffering a knee injury at the World Cup group stages with Brazil, star summer signing Gabriel Jesus underwent surgery.

“If there was a timeline and I could see you and tell you something, I would say ‘Gabriel, you are a winner’,” the striker said when breaking his silence on Instagram, accompanied with a childhood photo. “Thanks to all who sent messages of support and love!” he added.
For Mikel Arteta, the Brazilian’s contribution to the team is crucial since it brings them one step closer to realizing his preferred playing style. Because the transfer window won’t open until January, Arteta has to adjust their plans for new signings.
Since he is now a free agent after mutually terminating his contract with Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo is a possible transfer to the Emirates Stadium. Old Arsenal great Ray Parlour has urged his former club against signing the Portuguese sensation despite his proven goal-scoring ability.
What did Ray Parlour say about Cristiano Ronaldo to Arsenal?
He told Sportslens: “I wasn’t in favour of bringing Ronaldo in, certainly not before Jesus got injured because he won’t want to be sitting on the bench again. I just don’t think he’ll work hard enough. I know he scores the goals but Ronaldo won’t bring the energy of Jesus by any means.
He still is a very good player but will he fit into Arsenal’s system the way they play now? I don’t see it. I’d be amazed if it happens but if it did then you’d have to just get behind it as an Arsenal fan and back the team.”
Parlour says that a move for a striker from a Premier League opponent may serve as a better option than signing the 37-year-old.
Erik Ten Hag talks about Cristiano Ronaldo
Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has finally addressed the media about Cristiano Ronaldo’s leaving.
Earlier this month, Ronaldo and Manchester United mutually decided to terminate his contract after he was critical of the team in an interview with Piers Morgan.
After Ten Hag attempted to bring in for Ronaldo in the final minutes of their 2-0 victory against Tottenham in October, the 37-year-old player said that Ten Hag lacked respect. The forward did not want to go in and left the stadium before the game was over.
In his first interview after Ronaldo’s outburst, Ten Hag expressed a desire to put the incident behind him.
“He’s gone and it’s the past. We are now looking forward and we’re looking to the future,” he said.
This season, Ronaldo made 16 appearances for United and scored three goals in total. Only one of those goals came in the Premier League.
When it came to starting up front, Ten Hag often rotated between Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and even Christian Eriksen, who was mostly a midfielder, among others.
