Alan Smith Feels Names The Arsenal Player Whose Career Has Gone Down

Arsenal Transfer News: The Uncertain Future of Emile Smith Rowe: Is an Exit Looming for the Arsenal Midfielder?

In the ever-evolving world of football, the rise and fall of young talents can be as unpredictable as the game itself. One such player who has recently found himself in the spotlight is Emile Smith Rowe, the Arsenal midfielder who once showed immense promise. However, recent events have raised questions about his future at the Emirates Stadium.

Smith Rowe’s Emergence and Struggles

Emile Smith Rowe, a product of Arsenal’s esteemed academy, made his debut for the Gunners during the 2018-19 season. His introduction to the first team was met with excitement and optimism. The 2021-22 season was undoubtedly his breakthrough moment, as he netted an impressive 11 goals in 37 appearances. It seemed like he was destined for greatness.

However, fate had different plans for Smith Rowe. The following season was marred by injuries, restricting him to a mere 15 appearances across all competitions. This setback was a significant blow to his progress. To make matters worse, this season has seen him slip down the pecking order, with Fabio Vieira and Kai Havertz taking precedence over him.

Alan Smith’s Assessment

Football pundit Alan Smith has been closely monitoring Smith Rowe’s journey. In a recent appearance on the Seaman Says podcast, Smith expressed his concerns regarding the midfielder’s situation. He pointed out that there appears to be uncertainty surrounding Smith Rowe in the eyes of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Smith said, “There’s something about Emile that Arteta’s not sure about. And yeah, you’re right, him and Saka came through the academy and they were coming up, heading for the stars. And then, Bukayo’s gone like that, and Emile’s gone backwards, hasn’t he?”

He further added, “He must be thinking, probably I need to move if this continues because he’s too good. But if you’re Arteta, you want to keep that depth of quality in your squad, so he’ll like to keep him I’d imagine. He got a run-out in the Carabao at Brentford. But he’s hardly getting a sniff.”

Smith Rowe’s situation becomes even more concerning when you consider that he hasn’t started a Premier League match for Arsenal in nearly two years. The lack of consistent playing time is undoubtedly frustrating for a player of his caliber.

Exploring the Options

Emile Smith Rowe is still relatively young and has ample time to make a lasting impact in the Premier League. Despite his recent struggles, several clubs have shown interest in securing his services. According to reports, Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Aston Villa were all keen on acquiring the talented midfielder’s signature during the summer transfer window.
