5 Reasons Why Arsenal Needs To Win A Major Title This Season!?

Arsenal Get Into A Transfer Tussle For This Laliga Defender

The Gunners have been playing some really good football in recent times. However, Arsenal failed to win the League last season. The North London giants were on top of the points table for most of the season. Despite that, it did not culminate into anything significant. And though the team went through a lot of ups and downs, together, there was nothing really to show for it. And they have now been eliminated from the League Cup too (this season)!!

However, this is a really crucial season for Arteta and co. They need to perform and produce some positive results this term. With the return to the Champions League also complete, it is time to step up once again. And so, the focus must be to win some major titles.

And that is something that the Spanish manager has been trying to inculcate within his squad. He wants them to win everything that they can. Further, he wants it done with his style of football. And the performances have to be top notch.

With that being said, here are 5 reasons why Arsenal really needs to win a MAJOR TROPHY this season-

Saka and co. need to win something or may consider moving on!!

Big players want to win trophies. Not everyone can be a Harry Kane!! And be that selfless!! Dedicating your whole club career to a team that NEVER WINS!! Very few top players can be happy with such selflessness. And surely Bukayo Saka wants to win more. And keep winning for that matter!!

But, at the end of the day, it is a team game. Everyone matters and so, the likes of Saka and co. might consider their long-term future at Arsenal. That is if things do not go upwards for them from this point. Because at the end of the day, every player wants to win more trophies and grow!!

All this talk about BETTER FOOTBALL, but it needs to convert into SILVERWARE now

The team has been playing some really good football over the course of the last 2 years (if not more). However, what’s the point of having the best performances by an Arsenal team in recent times if there are no serious trophies to support the performances. Yes, an FA Cup is already what Mikel Arteta has delivered. But Arsenal needs more!! And so does the Spaniard!!

Arteta hasn’t come to the Emirates and take up the mantle at the club, just to win these Cups. He came here to win the League, the Champions League and more. He is here to build his own long-term legacy. And for that, titles and trophies are a must.

Arsenal fans need to see Arteta winning another trophy before his contract extension

Arteta has a contract at Arsenal, which expires at the end of the 2024/25 season. This means that the Spaniard has one more campaign after this, as of now. So, he will be looking to extend his contract possibly this season or at the end of it. With that being said, he and the club’s hierarchy would surely be looking at the progress made in recent times.

Now, though there has been some growth overall, trophies are a must for a big club like Arsenal. With nothing substantial in the last few years apart from a Community Shield or 2, it’s high time that the North Londoners assess what needs to be done next!? Will they continue with their rookie coach!? Or will they finally consider alternatives!? Time will tell.

Trophies are a must to attract more better quality players, who will choose Arsenal over their rivals

Arsenal has signed some big names in recent times under Mikel Arteta. The brand of football has been sold to players like Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard and more. However, after such good football being played across the last few seasons, trophies are the need of the hour. That is if the club wants to continue to sign more big names in the future.

Just having a good culture and playing positive football isn’t enough. Prospects that are linked to the Emirates do tend to see which club is winning what!? If the Gunners can’t win anything with all the good work that is happening at present, then players tend to choose alternative projects or destinations to move to. That is something which can impact the long-term progress of the club, as a whole.

If Arteta fails to win anything this season again; the club then needs to consider WHAT NEXT!?

Every club has a long-term plan to win more titles. They want to win Cups and add more silverware to their trophy cabinet (apart from Spurs, HAHA!!). And so, they hire the best man to get them the desired results!! In this case, it is Mikel Arteta. Or maybe NOT!?

Well, if Arsenal does not win any trophy this season; with the League Cup already gone, it could be time for the Kroenkes to think out of the box and get someone new in. That could be a more-experienced manager than Arteta. Someone, who will want to take up the challenge of consistently winning trophies for the Gunners.

Only time will tell what this team can win. However, Arsenal surely needs to win something soon. Not just for the fans to be happy and satisfied. But for Mikel Arteta himself to want more!! And aim higher!! Let’s wait and watch!! #COYG
