Arsenal Want To Pay €60m To Replace Thomas Partey

The gifted Benfica midfielder Joao Neves is someone Arsenal wants to acquire. Benfica wants double the price they have offered, €60 million (£51 million). The intensive talks have been facilitated by this difference between the asking and offer prices.

Joao Neves is 19 years old and has showed enormous promise. Not everyone has been indifferent to his performances. His name has just been put to the transfer shortlist of Arsenal, one of the best teams in England. Benfica is playing hardball with a £102 million release clause. They understand why clubs may object to such a large cost. They do, nonetheless, think Neves is well worth the money.

The matter:

Neves is clearly a midfield potential star. To Arsenal, he is the ideal companion for Declan Rice. A likely departure by Thomas Partey makes Neves an even more alluring choice. Neves’ importance was further increased when he was selected for the European Championship team the previous season.

Benfica has given obtaining Neves a new deal some thought. Both his release clause and salary are to be raised to €150 million (£127 million). Though they have tried, negotiations have not moved further. While Neves’ present contract expires in 2028, his future is still unknown.

Arsenal is aware that, should they really want Neves, they will have to up their offer. Benfica may find it much more difficult to keep him after his outstanding Euro performance this summer. Arsenal has come perilously close to winning the Premier League the last two seasons. They may be seen by Neves as a squad about to achieve enormous success.

Focused on building his team is Mikel Arteta. His objective is to break Arsenal’s Premier League winning streak, and acquiring Neves may be a crucial step. The youthful prodigy may soon be welcomed at the Emirates Stadium if Arsenal can satisfy Benfica’s demands.

Benfica has to decide. Neves is someone they want to retain and they really appreciate. The player’s desire and the attraction of a large transfer price, however, may change things. Knowing that other teams could be interested also increases the pressure on Arsenal. The way Neves has grown and performed has brought him attention. Benfica now has two options: either he will secure a bigger contract or he will cash in while his stock is higher.

Everybody is watching Joao Neves as the transfer window heats up. Will Arsenal have to go somewhere else or will Benfica’s demands be fulfilled? The way this transfer story develops will become clear in the next weeks. Every club has interests, and the athlete will decide his own destiny.

The Premier League is just around the corner, and Neves may be the next great thing to brighten up English football. The world of football is watching, Benfica supporters are nervous, and Arsenal supporters are optimistic. All parties concerned should have a fascinating summer.
