Romelu Lukaku might leave Chelsea this summer. Napoli has shown interest. While on loan at AS Roma last season, Lukaku made an impression. Talks of moving to Napoli have gotten more momentum this summer. According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea would only think about moving Lukaku permanently. They are against granting the Belgian striker another loan.
Lukaku is supposedly valued by Chelsea at £38 million. Any club may or might not agree to this amount. But Napoli looks determined to get the seasoned striker. Lukaku played at Inter Milan under Antonio Conte, the current manager of Napoli. Reuniting with Conte might tempt Lukaku. Having worked with Lukaku before, Conte thinks the striker can start right away. Conte is thus urging for this move.
Napoli anticipates losing their top scorer Victor Osimhen this summer. They need a trustworthy goal scorer, and Lukaku is that guy. Osimhen could be best replaced by Lukaku given his track record. The 31-year-old showed his brilliance by scoring 21 goals for AS Roma the previous season. His previous triumph at Inter Milan emphasises his skills even more. Should Napoli seal the agreement, Lukaku would be a great acquisition. With Osimhen sold, Napoli would have the money to pay Lukaku.
Is Chelsea Allowing Romelu Lukaku To Leave For Chelsea
Lukaku is obviously seen by Chelsea from a clear standpoint. His future at Stamford Bridge is seen by the club to be nonexistent. Lukaku himself probably wants to go on permanently after his tumultuous spell with Chelsea. A permanent move is the best option for all parties concerned since the Blues want to dump his salary.
Reports, however, indicate Napoli could only be able to afford a loan transfer. Lukaku wants to concentrate on his football and address his long-term future. Chelsea and he neither gain from another loan. As such, the Blues are against the concept of a loan move.
Romelu Lukaku’s future is still unknown. Napoli has real interest because of Conte’s want to get back together with Lukaku and their possible loss of Osimhen. Chelsea wants to completely cut ties with Lukaku, thus they are insisting on a permanent agreement. It will be seen in the next weeks whether Napoli can raise the money for a permanent move or if another team rises to Chelsea’s value. In any case, Lukaku wants to establish his career and choose a team where he can flourish free from the distraction of short-term transfers.
