Wow! Chelsea Defender Not Happy At The Club, Will He Leave In January?

According to the latest reports, Blues defender Andreas Christensen is growing frustrated at Chelsea because of the lack of football at the club. Christensen has provided us with an update on his future regarding amid the transfer speculation growing around the young defender, with his future at Stamford Bridge hanging in the balance.

Ever since Maurizio Sarri has taken over the reins at Chelsea in the summer from predecessor Antonio Conte, there seems to be a different air about the club. The Italian master tactician has instilled his philosophy into the club and has embedded his players to play his beautiful style of football. The performances have also granted some positive results as the Blues are still unbeaten this campaign and sit in 3rd place on the Premier League table. Chelsea also got past their Europa League group stage quite comfortably and Sarri has been given a lot of plaudits for his achievements with the West London club so far.

Among the back line, Sarri has mainly used David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger in the heart of the defense and the duo has been rock solid so far. In fact, Andreas Christensen, who was a key figure under Conte last season, has not been able to feature for Chelsea in the Premier League so far. Christensen was very impressive for the Blues last term after the Dane returned from his loan spell at German club Borussia Monchengladbach and was tipped to be a future captain at the club as his qualities were compared with legendary captain John Terry.

Christensen’s father stated that he would prefer if his son moved away from Chelsea in order for regular football elsewhere as there is no shortage of clubs demanding a quality young central defender. Although, the 22-year-old Christensen himself doesn’t think that he would be leaving the club in the January transfer window.

When asked by Sky Sports about whether he would leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, Christensen was not actually sure but still stuck to saying that he would not depart anytime soon, “Difficult question. No, I do not think so. Things are different from last season. I played a lot of games, but this season it has not been like that. It is always difficult for a player but we will see what happens. If you asked every player that is not playing if they are happy, they’re going to say no.”

Christensen explained that every player wants to make it to the starting eleven and that he will try and take his opportunities in the Europa League to convince the manager for a regular berth in the starting eleven, “Everyone wants to play. I can not do anything else but go back there, train and do my best. Every time I get that opportunity, I have to do well and show him that he can count on me. You don’t want to sit around and wait for it. You want to play straight away and that is why we all play football. Not playing is not fun. It is a different situation to last season.”
