Manchester United Superstars Must Be Pleased As They Finally Got What They Wanted

Sweden international and one of Manchester United’s defensive mainstay, Victor Lindelof is positive about current caretaker manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer and feels that he will be selected for the full-time job next season at Old Trafford. Solskjaer since taking the reins from Jose Mourinho in November has blindly trusted the Swedish defender at the backline for the red devils. Lindelof became more regular under him featuring in 16 out of a total 19 matches managed by the Norweign. Lindelof’s partnership with Chris Smalling has been pretty impressive as the duo consistently made the starting XI.

The former Molde boss has lost only one game in the 13 Premier league matches managed by him- against Wolves- and the Red Devils are just three points below third placed Tottenham Hostpurs. Considering the condition of the club since his arrival, the growth and the change in mentality is making him the favourite for the job at Old Trafford next season.

There is a sense of certainty in the air and despite knowing the fact fans are still unsure of the appointment. According to reports Manchester United are set to appoint Ole Solskjaer as their permanent boss for next season, with the announcement taking place within this week.

Swedish defender Victor Lindelof was asked about the matter by Sky Sports as he said: “If he gets the job, I will be pleased.”

It is not my job to decide in the end, but, of course, I am very happy with the things that he has done since he has arrived. I have nothing bad to say about him.”

“He is a legend of the club, so he knows everything about being here as a player, so when he speaks to you, you always listen. He knows what he is talking about because he has been through it all. That is also a very good thing to have.”

There were rumours surrounding several managers to take up the position at Old Trafford. The current rejuvenation of the Red Devils under their caretaker boss in what was turning out to be their worst season in recent history. Solskjaer’s appointment as a caretaker boss was a nothing to lose kind of call but it worked. The Norwegian could perfectly infuse the positive mentality among the players and their camaraderie on the field is a testament to that fact. Solskjaer was one the best students of former Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson and the Norwegian is just carrying the legacy forward.

Earlier Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera also came out and clearly said that the Spaniard wants Solkjaer at the helm of Manchester United permanently. Herrera allowed people to put light on several issues as he said some weeks back about the issue.

With the backing of the players, it was quite obvious that the Red Devils’ interim manager had the locker room in his favour and all he needed was a nod from the management, which he eventually got. Recently Solskjaer was appointed as the new United boss, much to the delight of the players and the fans and hopefully he can deliver now.
