The Truth About Eden Hazard’s Recent Comments On Chelsea And Their Fans

It was being suggested that Real Madrid superstar Eden Hazard had taken a subtle dig at the lack of passion of his former club Chelsea’s fanbase by comparing them to the ones at Real Madrid. The Belgian international had suggested that the fans at Stamford Bridge were not fanatic enough and it had made the news.

However, the message that was posted all over social media, might have been a bit out of context. Generally, the news reporting is done based on the words that the player says, rather than simply the exact context in which he says it. Similar was the case this time as well.

Hazard has struggled a bit at the start of the new campaign in Spain and was plagued by an injury as well. He is now fully fit and has made his return to the playing eleven, just recently.

In his interview, the ex-Blues’ talisman was asked a lot of questions including what he felt was the most exciting thing about Spanish football. To this, he spoke about the fans and how they were different from the ones in England.

Below is Hazard’s complete statement from his interview in Spain, which was first reported by Marca-

Well, the 28-year-old winger is one of the best in the world at present and will surely be missed by the west London outfit. Not just his goals, but his assists and creative play was crucial for them as well.

The Londoners have a transfer ban at present but had bought Christian Pulisic to fill his void from Borussia Dortmund. The USA international has so far failed to fill the void left by the former Chelsea skipper, though only time will tell whether he is able to make a similar impact or not.

Frank Lampard’s side has had a mixed start to the new campaign and will be keen to make a strong impact in the upcoming days. They were really good in the second half against the champions of Europe, Liverpool and dominated it. They will want to perform in similar fashion in the upcoming matches, as they look to win some titles (hopefully).

It is a transitional phase for the Londoners and they will want to see their youngsters grow in the long-run. A lot of players have already stepped up, while some of the young talents are slowly making an impression. Things are improving under Lampard, with the team having picked their first win at the Bridge, along with a clean-sheet to their name as well.

With that being said, only time will tell whether the team can actually make an impact this term or not. For now, things are looking good, but then consistency is the key to everything. Lampard has a plan and hopefully, his players can execute those plans and get the desired results.

It will not be easy at present and the former England international will not be able to sign new players at present due to the transfer ban. However, the club will want to spend big next summer, when the embargo is done and dusted.
