Arsenal Get An Update On Two Transfer Deals That Could Happen This Summer

Arsene Wenger’s side may lose out on the two prime transfers that he had targeted this season. Jean Michael Seri of OGC Nice and Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco seem to be heading away from their clubs, but not to the Emirates stadium at north London. Premier League rivals Liverpool have now been linked with Ivorian international Seri after Jurgen Klopp confirmed interest in the Nice midfielder. Seri has been an Arsenal target for quite a while now but is close to signing with Merseyside club Liverpool for a bid of £20m. Having being dubbed as a replacement for midfielder Santi Cazorla, Seri is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder who works-hard and is a good passer of the ball.

Despite having Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Jack Wilshere and Mohamed Elneny at Wenger’s disposal, one might wonder as to why he requires another player in the center of the pitch. However, considering the amount of games the Gunners are set to play this season, along with injuries to key players, it seems understandable.

Seri scored eight goals and produced 10 assists last term as he helped the French side reach the Champions League play-off’s finishing third in the Ligue 1 table. But Liverpool now are favorites to sign the 26 year old.

Another player that is linked to Arsenal for a while has been AS Monaco’s forward Thomas Lemar. The latest reports now claim that Wenger will also lose out on Lemar as French billionaire club Paris Saint Germain are looking to snap up the striker.

The 21 year old is priced at £55m and Wenger isn’t willing to spend too much on the French forward even though he desperately wants to lure Lemar. Although, Monaco will not want to sell Lemar to their direct league rivals, we all know how deep the Parisians’ pockets are when it comes to transfers.

Arsenal will now have to look at alternatives to the two signings they are to miss out on if they want new additions to their squad. Will Wenger actually be willing to spend big on his acquisitions?

The Loss To Stoke!!

Losing in the second match of the season would have been really heart-breaking for the north London outfit. However, the French manager must now focus on reviving his team and taking them to the top once again.

Now, if these reports are actually true and Wenger does not get his targets, he can look at other players who would be interested in a move, with their respective clubs looking to sell and cash in.

Another issue is the Alexis Sanchez transfer saga, which has not reached any conclusion thus far and it is still not certain, whether the Chilean international will be staying at the Emirates or joining former boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Even if Wenger is unable to add more signings to his squad, it will be in his best interest to conclude the talks about the future of Sanchez, as if the attacker is willing to say, he is surely needed up front to score goals.

Whatever be the story, our page will report it.
