According to the latest reports, Premier League side Arsenal are looking to sign Eibar’s midfield superstar Joan Jordan in the upcoming summer transfer window to bolster their squad. The Spanish star could be available for a transfer fee of just £12m in the near future and the Gunners are looking to take advantage of that situation.

Unai Emery has done quite an incredible job since taking charge of the Arsenal football club back in the summer of 2018 from his legendary predecessor Arsene Wenger. The French manager had been in charge of the club for 22 long seasons and won plenty of major honours during his reign, including three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups. However, during the last few seasons of Wenger as the manager of Arsenal, even the loyal and ardent Arsenal fans wanted him out of the club.

Arsenal wasn’t really progressing further under Wenger and Emery’s appointment breathed some much needed fresh air into the Emirates Stadium. The Spanish boss has implemented his philosophy into the team and almost all of his summer recruits went on to make a big impact by hitting the ground running. Emery has also decided on the players that he wants to keep and those that he wants to offload and Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey is one player that will leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

Emery took Arsenal on a 22 game unbeaten streak earlier in the season and the Gunners are in the hunt for a Champions League spot in order to play in the elite tournament next summer. Arsenal have also made it to the semi-finals of the Europa League and look like solid contenders to go on and lift the continental trophy.

Emery is still aware that he needs reinforcements in the summer transfer window if he wants to compete for the major honors and silverware on a regular basis. Surprisingly, 47-year-old does not use star play-maker Mesut Ozil consistently and 30-year-old is tipped to leave the club in the summer. Emery wants a replacement for the German and has identified Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan as the ideal man to fill in the shoes of Ozil.

Jordan has the passing ability to fit in quite comfortably at Arsenal and he also possesses goal scoring traits as he has scored four goals for the Spanish outfit this season. The 24-year-old is able to pick up those key passes in the final third and also had four assists to his name in the La Liga helping Eibar to 13th place on the Spanish table. Arsenal though is planning on luring Jordan to the Emirates because of his release clause.

The Gunners are working on a budget at the moment and could use some sensible and economical transfers this summer. Jordan’s current contract with Eibar expires next summer in 2020 and he has a release clause of €15m. The Spanish star is tipped for a move away from Eibar as he possesses some quality in his passing and shooting, which Arsenal could do with his creativity in midfield if they managed to snap him up.
