Chelsea Star Wanted By La Liga Giants, Will He Leave Stamford Bridge For Spain Return?

In a recent report published by the Mirror, there are claims made that Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is prepared to return to the Spanish league to join Atletico Madrid. Having played for Barcelona earlier in his career, this move could take place as he has the experience of playing football at a top level club in La Liga.

Chelsea is currently enjoying a great spell of football under new manager Maurizio Sarri as the Italian has helped the club to second, but joint top along with Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League. In his first eight games in the English League Sarri has won six and drawn two being the only club in Europe yet to lose a competitive game in all competitions. Sarri has implemented his style of football on the London giants and the Chelsea fans are being treated to some lovely eye-catching and dazzling football. The players are flourishing under Sarri as the new boss has kept them in the title with solid displays at the start of the campaign. Chelsea also knocked out the high flying Liverpool from the League Cup to hand Jurgen Klopp his first defeat of the season at Anfield.

What makes Sarri’s football so attractive is mainly the midfield dominance with Jorginho, Ross Barkley, N’golo Kante, and Mateo Kovacic. Jorginho is well aware of Sarri’s game plan as the duo worked together at Serie A club Napoli and the Brazilian born Italian has been bossing it in midfield for Chelsea linking up play from attack to defense and controlling the tempo of the game. Everyone knew how talented Mateo Kovacic was when at Real Madrid and the Spanish giants are now monitoring his progress at Stamford Bridge and will be keen to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu after watching impressive outings at Chelsea.

Ross Barkley was always tipped to be one of the most promising young players in English football and he is proving how good he is in Sarri’s side after quite surely cementing a starting berth. The ever-present N’golo Kante works his socks off in every game and seldom gives the ball away and has become Sarri’s new box to box midfielder and the World Cup winner is fitting in that role quite well so far. And with Belgian talisman Eden Hazard linking up the attack and scoring phenomenal goals, Chelsea are on the up and up.

However, one key member of Chelsea’s squad is Cesc Fabregas and the Spaniard has become a bit part player for Chelsea. The former Arsenal and Barcelona man starts only during the Cup games and with just over six months left on his Chelsea deal, it could well be curtains for Fabregas in the winter transfer window. La Liga side Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on Fabregas as he has had the experience of playing in the Spanish league and can be a great play-maker for Diego Simeone.

Speaking to reporters earlier this week though, Fabregas revealed that he is enjoying his football at Chelsea under Sarri, “I wish he came a bit earlier, to be honest, it’s a little bit late now in my career. Definitely, I’m very happy with him, I’d love to stay at the club. I’ve been very happy for the last four years and a half; we’ve had great success, won many things. I feel I still have a lot of football left in me but it is now up to the club.”
