Five Major Truths Exposed From England’s Win Over Spain Last Night

4. Rashford Goal Positive Sign For England And Manchester United

Finally it was time for the Manchester United man, who was struggling to find form in front of goal to claim not just a goal, but an assist as well. This will be a positive news for not just the fans at the national level, but back at the Red Devils’ camp too. The team has been struggling as a unit for quite some time now and this will surely be a huge boost for them. It will be interesting to see now, whether the player can now make use of this positive boost.

3. Spain Looked Fragile

This was one of the worst defensive showings by Spain in the entire tournament and Enrique’s side were totally exposed in front of goal. They were weak and gave a lot of space and freedom to the English players to exploit and hurt them. Conceding three goals in a single half is never a good sign for any top team and it is what cost Spain in the first place.

2. Goalless Harry Kane

In a game that he could have probably scored quite a few times, skipper Harry Kane once again ended up scoring no goals. This might be a bit disappointing for him, as he was given some opportunities with a lot of space to create and make runs. He did play some really good balls for his team-mates and did get manage to pick up a couple of assists, though surely a goal is a goal and any striker will love to have as many of them as possible.

1. Fightback- Too Little, Too Late

Though Spain did manage to pull back a goal before the hour mark, the second goal came too late and the game was over by that point. Had they managed to score prior to that, things could have been so different for them. However, it just did not happen and they eventually ended up losing the game 2-3.
