Frank Mcavennie Gives An Update On The Future Of Manchester United Star Paul Pogba

According to Frank McAvennie, after Paul Pogba’s humiliating performance against Liverpool last weekend, Manchester United may decide to terminate contract discussions with him.

During an interview with Football Insider, former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie said that he does not believe Manchester United would spend a lot of money to keep midfielder Paul Pogba on the team for a long period of time.

In his penultimate season at Old Trafford, the Frenchman has made no hint that he wants to extend his contract with the Red Devils. For quite some time now, there have been rumblings about his whereabouts throughout the world. Teams such as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in acquiring his services on a free transfer at the conclusion of the current season.

McAvennie went on to say that Manchester United may opt to put a stop to contract negotiations with the former Juventus star

Pogba’s representative, Mino Raiola, recently said that there have been no fresh developments about the Frenchman’s contract in recent days.

McAvennie, a former West Ham striker, has taken a go at the 28-year-old, claiming that he is a “problem figure” at Manchester United and that he should be fired. When asked about the difficulties that Pogba brings to the table after the midfielder was sent off for a harsh tackle on Naby Keita, the ex-Premier League attacker used his performance against Liverpool last weekend as an example to mention the concerns that Pogba brings.

McAvennie went on to say that as a consequence of this, Manchester United may opt to put a stop to contract negotiations with the former Juventus star. “I believe Pogba is the source of the issue. He believes that he is at the centre of the universe. That red card came as a complete surprise to me. You don’t walk into a tackle like that, no matter who you are,” he said emphatically.

Frank McAvennie lashes out at Paul Pogba

The benefit of the doubt is something I’m glad to offer him. I don’t believe he intended to do harm to Keita. However, it was completely startling when it came to a point when it was no longer relevant. As a result, his club faced an even more difficult job against what is perhaps the strongest team in England right now.

“He goes missing or doesn’t show up on a regular basis. Surely, Manchester United is not supposed to be offering him a lucrative new deal. That is not something I see occurring. According to what I can see, the supporters are enraged.”

Pogba was unable to play in Manchester United’s match against Tottenham owing to the ban he received after being sent off against Liverpool. The midfielder has provided the most assists for Manchester United this season, but the club showed that they can function well even without him by defeating Tottenham 3-0. Whether the 20-time English champions give him a new contract or allow him to go for free in the coming weeks will be intriguing to watch.
