Watch: Rohit Sharma’s Brilliant Catch Gives Perfect Start To Team India In The Fourth Test Match

Mohammed Siraj

The fourth Test match began for Team India with a bang. It was expected that the visitors would struggle due to the absence of their frontline bowlers. However, that did not seem to be the case by the start that was showcased on day 1 of this fourth Test. It was Mohammed Siraj who opened the flood-gates early on in this must-win match for both sides.

The Video Of David Warner’s Dismissal That Went Viral

David Warner was the first batsman to depart after Australia won the toss and chose to bat. It was a brilliant delivery that caught the edge of the Aussie opener. To add to that, Rohit Sharma, who recently made his return to the Test team made no mistake in the slips. He held on to a brilliant catch, early in the day.

Though a lot of people have made fun of his weight and his agility on the pitch, the catch proved otherwise. He looked perfectly ready and eager to assist his bowler in getting that crucial wicket. What a delivery and what a catch indeed!!

It was brilliant team-work by these top players and the play worked. Warner was gone rather early and this gave the bowling team the advantage. It was something probably that they would have planned and the plan worked yet again.

Why Team India Needs To Capitalize On This Good Early Start?

Team India needs to now work on this early momentum that they have. This is a must-win game for both sides if they want to win the Test match. Already, Team India had a handicap in the previous game.

Due to the injuries that their players picked up, they had to force through a draw. This time around, they can try to go for an early kill and win the Test series. It should be a good game once again and whoever wins the rest of the sessions today can have a great advantage for themselves.

Steve Smith criticised for appearing to scuff Rishabh Pant's guard in third Test | BT Sport

Steve Smith Could Once Again Be A Major Thorn In India’s Feather?

Steve Smith just loves Indian bowling and he enjoys playing against them. Team India is his favourite opponent and he is the Aussie batsman who is leading the charts with regards to centuries scored against them. With that being said, even the bowlers know that they need to get him out early. That is if they want to wrap up the Aussie first innings early.

Keeping that in mind, the plan has to be clear right from the get-go. Let’s see how well it can be implemented now. Each session counts and if Team India wants to come good, they need to get more quick wickets. Currently, Australia has lost a couple of wickets and a steady partnership is building between Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. The score at lunch on day 1 is 65/2 from 27 overs.
