Several teams, including Inter Milan, are said to be interested in signing Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, whose contract with the club is set to expire after the season.
To maintain hold of Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal must fight tooth and nail, according to Fichajes. They have been unsuccessful in their attempts to negotiate a contract extension with the forward, whose current contract expires after the season.
Lacazette’s fragile status at the Emirates has prompted several teams, notably Inter Milan, to issue a red alert. The Serie A winners are keeping a careful eye on the situation in North London, as the French attacker is likely to leave the club next summer, particularly if Arsenal fails to qualify for European competition in the next season.
Lacazette will be out of contract after the end of the season
Following a successful tenure at Lyon, Lacazette has had an inconsistent time at Arsenal since joining the club in 2017. A total of 187 competitive games have resulted in 70 goals for him, but he has failed to establish himself as a consistent goal scorer. As a result, he has spent most of his time in North London living in the shadow of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is his teammate.
But the Frenchman has been on a roll recently, and it’s hard to argue with that. He has been directly involved in five goals in the previous four games, and he has even captained Arsenal many times during that time. Gunners have scored 14 goals in this span, and it looks that the attacker is thriving in the absence of Aubameyang, who may be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium due to interest from Premier League side Newcastle United.
Inter Milan needs reinforcements in the attacking line
Because of the club’s lack of viable replacements for Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez, Inter Milan is interested in signing Lacazette permanently. In the meanwhile, new recruit Joaquin Correa has struggled to make an impression, and Martinez’s superb performances have sparked speculation about his future, with Chelsea apparently among the teams interested in signing him.
As for Dzeko, he is nearing the end of his professional career, which highlights the necessity for the Serie A champions to recruit a new attacker in the summer of 2022. And it is in this situation that Lacazette might enter the battle.
As Inter seeks to preserve their domination over Italian football, the 30-year-extensive old’s experience at the top level of the game may be beneficial. The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, may face heavy competition from the likes of Juventus and Newcastle United in their pursuit of the Frenchman, who might also end up staying at Arsenal for a long period.
Despite the fact that Lacazette is expected to depart the club in the summer, Arteta is satisfied with the idea that he will continue as captain.
On whether Lacazette will be given the armband in the near future, the Spaniard responded: “Well, he is the next in line, and he’s accepted it the way everyone witnessed today with such pride and passion. ‘m incredibly pleased with the way he performed once again.”
When asked whether he is enjoying the part, he responded affirmatively: “Absolutely.” Laca, on the other hand, has always behaved in this manner in the dressing room. You can see how he interacts with the other players and how eager he is to assist them. It is in his character to do so.”
“He is not a self-centred player. He is a player who is content when he contributes to the improvement of the team. Behaves in the same manner in the dressing room.”
