Match Preview: Chelsea Vs Manchester United, As Top Stars Missing From FA Cup Squads

Chelsea will face Manchester United in the fifth Round of FA Cup. It is going to be a really important match for both the sides. The Blues have a little advantage of playing this match at home. However, the Red Devils are in good form and they will put up a real fight at Stamford Bridge tonight.

Team News :

Chelsea :

After a heavy defeat against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium in the previous weekend, the Blues earned a crucial victory against Malmo FF in the first leg of Europa League round of 32 clash. It was an away game and the Blues were able to score two goals in that match. However, Maurizio Sarri’s side did not seal a convincing win as they conceded a goal against Malmo FF at the 80th minute of the match.

Maurizio Sarri is currently having many problems in his squad. His side is still not properly able to adapt to the style of football under his management. Maurizio Sarri’s philosophy of football is holding the possession of the ball for most of the time in the match and also pressing hard the opponent when the ball is not in the feet of his players. However, this Chelsea side is too much slow and therefore they are not able to adapt with the style of football under the management of Maurizio Sarri.

David Luiz is one of the players whom the fans do not want to be in this Chelsea side. However, he is only player who is slowly adapting to the nature of football. David Luiz creates the attack from the back and this is very much needed for the kind of football Maurizio Sarri wants to play. Antonio Rudiger will partner David Luiz in the central defense of Chelsea.

There will be a question mark about the future of Marcos Alonso as the player is not going through his best form. The likes of N’Golo Kante, Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain will be back in the starting lineup of Chelsea in the match against Manchester United.

Manchester United :

The Red Devils have two big injury problems as they might not be able to play Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial in this match. Both the players were injured in the first half of the match against Paris Saint Germain in the Europa League.

Alexis Sanchez was unable to make any difference after his arrival in the field in the second half of the match. So, he might also be in the bench. Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford will be at the two wings and Romelu Lukaku will be the lone centre forward of Manchester United in this match. Chong and Angel Gomes might be in the squad of the Red Devils in this match.
