Ravichandran Ashwin Hilariously Hits Back At Fan Who Accuses Him Of Taking A Dig At Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli

The Premier Off-Spinner of India, Ravichandran Ashwin who has been warming the bench for a while now, took to Twitter to praise the batting performances of Australia’s Steve Smith in the Ashes. Smith has troubled the English bowlers a lot with his consistent performances in the batting department. His big scores have helped Australia retain the Ashes by sealing an unassailable lead in the 5-match series.

Every Cricket fan has enjoyed the batting of the former Aussie captain and, since Virat Kohli is one of the classiest Test batsmen of the world, there has been a lot of debate as to who is the best, Steve Smith or Virat Kohli? While this mystery remains unsolved, India’s off-spinner, Ravi Ashwin praised Steve Smith in his appreciation tweet on Twitter.

One of the fans accused Ashwin of indirectly saying that Steve Smith is a better batsman than Virat Kohli but the Chennai-born spinner defended his argument with a hilarious reply.

The fans have often used social media to spread hatred and rumors. One of the recent cases was of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. The current Indian captain had sent out a tweet thanking Dhoni for his efforts and motivation in the India versus Australia match of ICC WT20 2016. The fans felt that MS Dhoni was going to retire that day and soon, rumors started to disseminate that the wicket-keeper batsman has called for a public press conference at 7 PM where he will reveal his future.

As expected, no conference happened that evening and the rumours were washed down the drain. In the aforementioned situations, the fans must understand that the cricketers have a heart and they too feel to post photos on social media just like the normal people do.

In case Ravi Ashwin is enjoying Smith’s batting, it does not mean that he rates him above Virat Kohli. Talking about the on-field action now, India will play a 3-match T20I series against South Africa which will begin from today at Dharamshala. Though Ashwin is not a part of the T20 squad, he will don the Indian jersey when they battle South Africa in the upcoming Test series.
