Stuart Broad Responds To Fan’s Criticism About Him Not Being As Great As Bumrah

The evergreen English cricket team’s pacer, Stuart Broad has been one of the most established squad players. At the age of 34, he is improving like fine old wine. Like his teammate and ‘idol’ Jamie Anderson, Broad wants to go further before downing the curtains of his impressive career.

Stuart recently reached a record-making number of 500 wickets in the test format. He became only the seventh bowler to do so in the traditional format and reached the milestone in his 14th year of contributing wrenching deliveries in Test Cricket.

The Story That Is Trending On Twitter

He has also plucked 700 international wickets making him one of the deadliest bowlers for his country and the world. Broad represented England in 143 Tests, 121 ODIs and 56 T20Is with figures to be added further in the tally even at this age. The lanky pacer has a lot of experience and class in him so it’s no surprise that people always find some reasons to compare him to other stars.

One of the fans did so by comparing with our very own, Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah has been the next sensational in Indian team’s bowling category. The Ahmedabad-born speedster turned everyone’s head in IPL and carried that to the International stage. He had a remarkable 2019 World Cup with his brilliance prevailing subsequent tournaments and series in all three formats known.

The fan took the opportunity to revert on Broad’s latest Instagram post. He went on by claiming Bumrah to be better than him. It was a sly dig at the Englishman. However, he was quite smart and handled the situation rather well. To this, Broad replied that he loves the fast bowler and he is one of his favourites. The best way one can say to avoid a feisty unnecessary debate online.

What The Fan Said And What Was The Reply By Stuart Broad?

The fan said online, “You are not great like Bumrah.”

Broad smartly replied by saying, “I love him, one of my favourites. I agree with you.”

Stuart swiftly reminded him that it is better to admire what both of them does for their respective nation rather than putting up a debate about who’s better than the other. He further wrote, ‘but you don’t need comparisons. Just enjoy good bowlers.’

The Message Sent Out Right?

It was a class act from Board, who understands the speciality of being classy bowlers like him and Bumrah. He also respects the status and does not budge into an emotional fight. That is why indeed he is one of the best in the world at the moment.

Stuart’s last appearance for England came against Pakistan in the third and final Test. His team secured a 1-0 test series win despite drawing the last game. Whereas, Bumrah is set to return to action after Covid-19 crisis cut down sports around the world with Mumbai Indians for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The tournament is due to start on September 19th in UAE after rescheduling due to pandemic situation, with Mumbai Indians being the defending champions.
