Update On The Future Of This Chelsea Star, As Champions Look To Recover From Loss

The Story-

Chelsea have not been very busy this transfer market in terms of selling players but their defender Tomas Kalas has rejoined Fulham on loan. Kalas was with the Blues on their pre-season tour of Asia, but the Czech defender was expected to join the London rivals when they returned to England. There were plenty of clubs that were interested in signing the young prospect, with Hull City providing close competition but Fulham were always confident of bringing Kalas back to Craven Cottage.
Kalas had spent an impressive last season at Fulham where he was a regular starter in Slavisa Jokanovic’s side helping them reach the Championship playoffs only to endure heart-break as they lost out to Reading.
Since joining Chelsea in 2010, Kalas has made just two Premier League appearances, one notably in the 2-0 victory over Liverpool in 2014 that denied them the potential Premier League crown.
Apart from that, he has not has much joy with Chelsea as he was loaned out to as many as five different clubs in six seasons. And it seems he will be playing football away from Stamford Bridge again next season.
Kalas is a strong, powerful and forceful centre-back. He is composed on the ball and has a good range of passing from the back. His height also helps his cause as he is able to win aerial battles. He is also able to play in the right back zone. Kalas has represented his country on six occasions.
Fulham have been keen on re-signing Kalas as they have remained in talks with the Premier League champions about a possible season-long loan deal since the end of last season.
The 24-year-old also seems interested in returning to Fulham after the deal is expected to be sealed next week. Antonio Conte is also happy to let his player get some more experience before he returns to Chelsea next season.
What Next For The Blues?
With a loss in their opening day fixture to Burnely, the west London outfit will now want to improve and play better football in the days to come. It will be up to the Italian manager to make the right kind of changes to his side, as they look to defend their league title in the days to come.
Conte will not want any more slip-ups, as it would bring down the morale and will possibly look to add a few other stars to bring a better balance to his side. Things have not gone well for him so far, after losing some key players in the transfer window and the Community Shield loss to the Gunners.
The start to the season is quite important and the manager will have to make some changes to get things sorted immediately. What happens next will be interesting to see, as the west Londoners look to get back to winning ways, in the days to come.
