It has now been stated that Premier League giants Manchester United have been told to pay a fee of £25m, if they want to secure the services of AS Monaco defender Fabinho. The 22-year-old has been targeted by the new United boss Jose Mourinho this summer and it seems that the Portuguese manager will try to pull off a last-minute move for the right back, as he looks to add more quality to his current squad before the summer transfer window closes.
However, it has been further added that the Ligue 1 side are in no rush to sell the star defender who had made 34 appearances for Monaco last season, after they secured a spot for the Champions League group stages this season beating Villarreal in the qualification rounds.
Sources claim that Mourinho is keen on making a late swoop for the Brazilian international and the Manchester based side have been told by the French outfit that a £25m bid will seal the deal for the young center back.
Monaco have been drawn against Tottenham Hotspur, Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow in this year’s Champions League draw and it will be interesting to see how they perform in the biggest cup competition in European football.
The Brazilian international has previously been with La Liga giants Real Madrid and surely does have the experience to help the Red Devils win some titles in the current campaign, if the move does indeed go through.
What happens next, remains to be seen as deadline day approaches.
