Spanish forward Pedro Rodriguez has recently confirmed that he is now ‘very happy’ at Stamford Bridge after adapting to life under new Chelsea boss manager Antonio Conte.
Pedro had hinted at his desire to leave the club after his poor form last year coincided with a forgetful season for the Blues after Jose Mourinho and interim manager Guus Hiddink only helped them to a mid-table finish at the end of the season, which is far from what Chelsea fans would expect from their team.
The 29 year old winger had also held transfer talks with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu last summer; however the move back to his former club fell through, even though he desperately wanted a switch away from London.
However, this season Pedro has become the player we were used to seeing during his Barcelona days. Under Conte Pedro has found himself becoming a key player and the thoughts of leaving Chelsea have now vanished.
“This is the best moment for me at this club and also the best moment for the whole team since I have been here” said Pedro.
Pedro has scored a tally of nine goals in all competitions this season helping the Blues reach the top of the summit, with his latest strike coming in Chelsea’s last outing as they drew 1-1 with Burnley.
The Spaniard added, “I am very happy here. It is a good situation when you are top of the league and progressing in the FA Cup. We are on the right path. Last year was a difficult one for me, for the club, for the team, but this year is different.”
“With this coach, all the team is focused on the fight for the title, with more confidence for every game and this is good. It is a completely different season.”
The Blues have a comfortable eight point lead against 2nd placed Manchester City and are favorites to win the League this season.
There is no doubt that the skillful attacker would want to stay at the club to win more trophies, as there is not doubt that he is an asset to the Italian main-man.
The team is currently doing well as a unit and really look unstoppable. If they can manage to keep up this form till the end of the season, they can end up winning some major titles in the days to follow.
The recent 2-0 win over Wolves in the FA Cup would have further made the fans and the players happy and Pedro finally believes that he is at the right place, which is a positive sign, with only better days ahead. One can hope.
