Wayne Rooney To China? Should Manchester United Really Sell Of Their Priced Asset?

It seems that one of Manchester United’s longest serving players at the moment and skipper Wayne Rooney could be all set to leave Old Trafford in the days to come, as per recent claims, suggesting that his agent Paul Stretford has been spotted in China. Current boss Jose Mourinho has seen a mixed set of performances by his team, since taking over and it seems prefers young blood in his side, rather than the aging veteran.

Recent buys have added some much needed quality to the Red Devils’ side, in all departments and it has been a struggle for a player like Rooney, to get enough game time.

Squad rotation has definitely been a tactic employed by the former Chelsea main-man, though the 31 year old England international would not be really pleased, with the amount of playing time that he has got in recent times.

With the likes of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Henrikh Mkhitaryan earning more regular opportunities eventually and Rashford being the future up front, it seems that Rooney will have to make way for the younger stars.

This could be a sign of things to come, as it is being stated by some media outlets that, if Mourinho did not want the Englishman to leave, his agent would not have been spotted in China, trying to get a deal done.

There is no doubt that the captain of the Manchester based side, is always going to be someone the players will look up to for inspiration, yet, there is no guarantee anymore, whether that would be in an on-the-pitch role.

If a legend like Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has won it all, can be axed by the current United boss, what guarantee does Rooney have that he might not suffer the same fate in the days to come.

The play-maker did confirm that he wishes to stay with his current club, during this rebuilding phase. However, what Mourinho does decide about his future in the team, would surely have an impact on what happens next.

Should Rooney leave for good or stay and fight for his place?? What is your say??
