The Daily Star has stated that Manchester United’s chief Ed Woodward, had previously had talks with the agent of Romelu Lukaku, with the hopes of bringing him to the Theatre of Dreams in the days to come. The Belgian international plays for Merseyside club Everton and has been quite impressive since leaving Chelsea permanently, though he was never really an integral part of the Blues’ side.
After spending season after season on loan at various clubs including the likes of Everton as well, the attacker who is just 23 years old now, finally decided to move on with his career, in order to find first regular team football.
He did well for the Toffees and was being targetted by a host of clubs across England and Europe and though a move away from Goodison Park has not worked out so far, it seems this time Jose Mourinho might have a plan to get this striker.
The 23 year old superstar could add that flare to the Red Devils’ first team which has been missing at times this season and the player could be the ideal replacement for Swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who might move to the MLS this summer.
Due to this, the Manchester based side will target the attacker at the end of the current season and if United does indeed sign Lukaku, it will be a huge boost for the Portuguese manager and his team.
However, it will not be easy to sign such a young player of his calibre and there could be an intense battle for his signature.
