Manchester United Still In The Chase To Sign This Versatile Defensive Superstar?

Story So Far-

The Red Devils have made their latest hint at bringing Brazilian midfielder to Old Trafford despite being warned off by Monaco, the Manchester based outfit is not ready to give up on the young midfielder. Jose Mourinho is one stubborn man, as his past may convey and it comes as no surprise that he is still willing to go after Monaco defensive midfielder Fabinho with Monaco planting a hefty sum for his transfer.

After splashing €100m for the transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United, United made a serious statement breaking transfer records but at the start of last season, Pogba was a Manchester United player.

This was the power that the legendary club has, despite not being in the elite Champions League, they managed to acquire the ammunition that led them to ending a season with three trophies.

This is what AS Monaco fear. Having won the French league after having an unbelievable season, the French champions have lost star quality players that led them to their glorious triumph.

Bernardo Silva, Nabil Dirar and Germain have already left the side they were instrumental at last season, not to mention Bakayoko, Mendy and Mbappe on the transfer list of another few top European clubs.

The void left will be almost irreplaceable once their new season begins and if they lose Fabinho to Manchester United, they could lose an extremely versatile player who has played with comfort in the right-back position as well.

Due to a lack of quality in midfield, Mourinho has been unable to generate the attacking flair that many Manchester United fans have desired, but with Fabinho, the club can be assured a strong, combative and intelligent passer of the ball.

Being a composed defensive minded player he is not afraid to carry the ball forward as he had chipped in with 10 vital goals during the course of the season.

These outstanding performances have caught the eye of Mourinho who is desperate to land the Brazilian. At 23, he could go onto becoming one of the Manchester United greats if he fits in well with Paul Pogba.

Having previously rejected a bid of €40m plus €5m of ad-on’s United are willing to prepare another bid amassing over €50m.

The fact that Monaco are not willing to sell Fabinho to direct league rivals PSG could help Manchester United’s cause.

More Recent Updates-

A recent report suggests that the defensive superstar has signed a deal finally, though it is with Spanish side Atletico, breaking the hearts of the English giants who wanted to sign him. United, City and former Ligue 1 champs Paris Saint-Germain were all keen to add him to their squad as well, though it did not work out for those clubs.
