What The Speculations Suggest?
With Antonio Conte’s side unable to make any massive signings during the summer transfer window, failing to acquire their prime targets, however, they are now keen to do so just before the transfer deadline day. Fresh reports suggest that Chelsea have agreed a transfer fee for Arsenal’s versatile midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, who is set to join the Blues before the transfer window shuts.
Reports also claim that Arsenal man Chamberlain wants to push out for an exit from North London after refusing to sign a new contract extension. The former Southampton player has been unhappy with the deal he was offered initially and is now ready to part ways with Arsene Wenger.
Chamberlain has just less than a year left on his current contract, which will see him leave for free next summer.
With Arsenal unable to keep the 24 year old content at the club and is now set to join the Premier League champions after a fee of £35m has been agreed upon.
Chamberlain was a part of the Arsenal team that were trashed by Liverpool 4-0 at Anfield on Sunday and barely worked hard enough, like the regular energetic player he is.
Reports also claim, that the Ox, who is currently training with the England national side at the moment will complete a medical in the few days to come.
Chelsea boss Conte stated in a recent interview that the club is doing all they can to secure deals for new arrivals at the club, he mentioned, “There are four days to go in the transfer market. I think the club is working very hard to try to improve our squad.”
“Don’t forget that in September we have to play seven games and I need to rotate my players because it’s very difficult to play seven games in a month with the same players.”
Chelsea overcame Merseyside club Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday with a 2-0 win, goals from Alvaro Morata and Cesc Fabreags secured three points for the hosts.
What This Means For The Gunners?
This could be the start of a mini-crisis at the Emirates and could a few quick deals for players away from the north London outfit, in the days to follow. With not much time left in the transfer window for all clubs to sign, whichever players they want, it will be nearly impossible to add more stars now.
Unless Wenger already has some sort of a plan, hopefully he can keep hold of some of his other key players, before the window eventually shuts.
If not, things could get real ugly for the French manager and his side could struggle, not just for a title challenge, but for a place in the top four as well.
Only time will tell whether these claims of the Blues signing him are true or not and whether or not a deal has been completed.
As per the stories going around now, he will be moving away from Arsenal, though he can monitor all the activity in the closing stages of the window from our page.
