India will host Mauritius in a international friendly fixture this Saturday evening at 8 PM IST. The Indian football team will come together after 2 months to face Mauritius in a friendly held at the Mumbai Football Arena. The Indian football team will finally return to action after two months. Stephen Constantine’s men last played Nepal in a friendly and beat them comfortably as S.Jhingan and Jeje Lalpekhlua found the net beating them 2-0.
India find themselves on the 97th position in the FIFA world ranking and have been doing really well. Their highest ever ranking was 94th in 1996 but soon they can go above it as Constantine has totally revolutionized this Indian side.
Since taking over the reigns as the Indian football manager in 2015 Stephen Constantine has done a commendable job when he took over India were on 173rd position their lowest ever FIFA ranking.
They have since jumped a total 77 places to the 96th position. Credit must be given to the players too they have showed the ability and hunger to win games and in the process have played some beautiful football.
India unfortunately won’t make it to Russia next year as they failed to qualify from their group. But they have a good chance to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. They have produced some great talents in these 3 years and with a proper domestic league emerging in India they have a good shot at the next World cup.
Coming back to the match. India will face Mauritius this Saturday. India have enough quality to see of Mauritius in this Friendly and in the process jump even higher in the FIFA rankings.
Mauritius find themselves on the 160th position in the FIFA rankings and a draw or a win might help them a lot, not just in terms of points, but morale as well.

For All The Indians Out There-
We always tend to lend our full support to the cricket team whenever the national team plays. Well, it is high time to change that mentality and lend our support to the soccer team as well.
The team has been performing really well in recent times and we at Beyond The Posts are trying to create an awareness that along with Premier League and other leagues of football, Indian football (at least at the national level, if not more) is a must for the fans from our country.
Hopefully, we get a good amount of reads and shares from the “true Blue fans” and it can encourage to keep reporting more and more stuff, in the days to come.
