Arsene Wenger Will Not Give Up On Signing His Man, As Arsenal Still Chase Star

The Intent By Wenger-

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had confirmed earlier today that he had made a bid for French forward Thomas Lemar on deadline day. However, AS Monaco were not willing to let go of their prized asset and they rejected the English club’s bid, but Wenger remains adamant that he will get his target sooner or later.

The Ligue 1 champions have already lost a lot of their players to other top European suitors, with the latest being Kylian Mbappe, who joined direct league rivals Paris Saint-Germain. And having the fear of losing all their stars, Monaco decided not to sell Lemar.

Wenger will be persistent, even after he admitted to bidding €100m for the 21-year-old forward. In a recent presser, Wenger said, “€100m for Lemar? Yes all true, I wanted him. He decided to stay at Monaco.”

However, the French manager further added as well, “We will come back for him.”

“I do not want to talk too much. You have to respect what really happens on the negotiation side.”

He concluded by saying, “I know we live in an era of transparency but at some stage to respect everybody you have to not talk too much about that.”

This clearly means that the player has been put on high alert that he is wanted in England, by one of the top clubs in the league.

Lemar was playing for his national side and was outstanding for France who ran out 4-0 winners against Netherlands in their World Cup Qualifying group.

After the game, Lemar put the transfer rumors to bed after stating, “I am a player of Monaco, I am very happy there, “Now I am going to make a good season with my club, to try to progress and move forward in my career with Monaco.”

With Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez’ future in speculation, Lemar is considered a replacement for the Chilean international. Wenger definitely wants Lemar to join his squad at the Emirates and will do whatever it costs to get the deal done, literally.

Can He Be A Game Changer?

A lot of talk is going around regarding the deal for the French international and the north London outfit had made a big money bid towards the end of the transfer window, this summer. However, the deal did not go through and it is clear that Wenger still wants him and will look to sign him soon, whether it is in the January transfer window or eventually at the end of the current term.

Arsenal are not doing well as a club at the moment and need to rebuild and assert themselves, not just in the top flight of English football, but at the level of European football, as a whole.

It is high time that the Gunners’ boss stops making excuses and finally delivers for his team and the fans. Things could get quite interesting in the days to follow, as the teams return to regular football in the league.
