The Money Games!!
Chelsea are ready to offer Premier League superstar Eden Hazard a new bumper deal that would make him the highest paid player in the League with a contract worth £300,000 a week, surpassing Manchester United’s Paul Pogba who makes £290,000 a week. Hazard has been a key player for Chelsea since his arrival in 2012 from Lille in France. During his spell at Chelsea, he has helped the Blues win the Premier league on two separate occasions along with a League Cup and a Europa League.
But all the awards and glamour has drawn a lot of interest from current Champions League holders Real Madrid. The La Liga giants are looking to strengthen their squad in order to defend the Champions League crown for a new record of three times in a row.
At just 26, Hazard is yet to reach his peak and the Champions of Europe are looming over the Belgian star attacker. Hazard is probably a like for like replacement for Welsh winger Gareth Bale according to reports in Spain.
The former Tottenham star has lost his place to young starlets at the club in the form of Isco, Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio. It has been a difficult season for Bale, although Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists that he is a key member in the squad.
Hazard is now considered one of the best players for a while but needs to add a Champions League trophy to his already sparkling resume. And his best bet of winning the title is with the Spanish champions, who are currently the best team in the world.
In 250 appearances, Hazard has scored 72 goals and provided 65 assists including flashes of brilliance to unlock stubborn defenses. But his value is currently sky-rocketing after a sublime season in 2016-17 where he scored 16 times and notches up 5 assists to help Chelsea to another League title.
This is the reason why Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is so eager and desperate to keep hold of his brilliant winger. Hazard’s current contract expires in June 2020, but an extension could see him becoming the highest paid player in the league with a staggering £300,000 a week wage.
But the thought of playing for the best club in Europe would also be a factor after Hazard has openly hinted of his admiration for the Los Blancos. Zidane has also publicly expressed his desire to work along with the star attacker. Will Hazard move to Real Madrid or will he accept the new contract at Chelsea?
Will The Blues Be Able To Retain Hazard?
The champions of England are keen on retaining Eden Hazard, as they know that he is one player who can help them win a lot of titles in the years to come. He has attracted a lot of interest from the La Liga holders and it will be a tough battle between the two sides to eventually get him to sign.
Real have a great history behind them, though their start to the new campaign would have been a huge disappointment for Zidane and his side.
