Manchester United VS Tottenham, All You Need To Know About The Biggest Game Of The Weekend

Jose Mourinho

Manchester United will face Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday. Manchester United will enter into the match with gaining some confidence from their League Cup match against Swansea City. But Tottenham will be slightly upset after getting out of the League Cup with a defeat against West Ham on Wednesday.

Manchester United are currently situated at second place in the League Table. They had earned 20 points from their 9 encounters so far. They had won 6 matches and two of their games were drawn. They faced the only defeat in the Premier League this season against Huddersfield Town in the previous week. The shock defeat with a margin of 2-1 was surely a warning bell for Mourinho’s team. They must have to point out the faults and have to play with their full potential against a team like Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently situated in the 3rd place with same points of United from the same number of matches. Their attacking line is really showing an impressive run this season. They had beaten Liverpool with a margin of 4-1 in previous weekend. But the defeat against West Ham in the round of 16 clash of Carabao Cup will slightly lower their confidence level. But they will surely wish to turn things around for them from this match.

Team News :

Manchester United :

France international Paul Pogba will still not feature in this big match against Tottenham Hotspur due to his long term injury, which has made him miss some of the crucial fixtures for the Red Devils already. Marouane Fellaini is not also available due to his injury. Marcos Rojo is still not fit for the match. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not also in match fit condition now.

David De Gea will start at United Goal against Spurs. Valencia and Blind will probably feature at two sides of the defense. Bailly and Jones will pair up in the central defense for United. Matic and Herrera will play as two holding midfielders while Mata and Mkhitaryan will play as two attacking midfielders in the field. Rashford will play along with Lukaku to lead the line for United against Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur :

The biggest news in the centre is that Harry Kane will not feature against Manchester United at Old Trafford. It might be a huge loss for Tottenham Hotspur as Harry Kane is in prolific form this season in all competitions for Spurs.

Lloris will be in the Goal of Tottenham. Vertonghen and Trippier will probably start as two side backs while Alderweireld and Davidson Sanchez will be in the central defense for them. Dier and Winks will play as two holding midfielders while Eriksen and Alli will feature as two attacking midfielders. Son and Llorente will pair up in the upfront for Tottenham Hotspur.
