Chelsea’s Concerns Growing Day By Day, Conte Could End Up In Trouble?

Not The Best Win!!

Chelsea had emerged victorious against Swansea with a margin of 1-0 in the 14th round of match of Premier League at Stamford Bridge. This win had helped them to keep their position in the third place in the League Table of Premier League. Antonio Conte had preferred to play with a 3-4-3 formation in this match against Swansea City. Thibaut Courtois started in the Chelsea Goal as expected while Rudiger, Christensen and Cahill were in the central defense for them in this match. Zappacosta and Alonso were deployed in the two flanks to play in the wing-back position.

Kante and Fabregas were occupying the centre of the midfield against Swansea. Willian and Pedro were deployed with Alvaro Morata in the attacking third for Chelsea.

On the other hand, Swansea manager Paul Clement preferred a 4-3-1-2 formation against the mighty Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Lukasz Fabianski started in the Swansea Goal in this match while Olsson, Mawson, Van der Hoorn and Naughton were in the defense for Swansea in this match. Mesa, Carroll and Sung-Yeung Ki were in the midfield for them in defensive role while Renato Sanches was deployed as attacking midfielder. Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Bony were in the attacking third for Swansea to lead them from the upfront.

The first half of the match had seen several chances coming for Chelsea but they were not able to convert them. They had two clear chance of penalties but they were not given by the referee. Antonio Conte became furious at the dying moment of the first half and was ordered to go in the stand by the referee due to bad conduct in the sideline. The dramatic first half had ended with a 0-0 scoreline.

In the second half, both the teams changed their strategies a bit. Leroy Fer were brought by Paul Clement in place of Renato Sanches at the beginning of the first half. Chelsea had got the all important goal of the match when Antonio Rudiger headed the ball to the Goal from a deflected cross at the 55th minute of the match. Olivier McBurney were brought in place of Roque Mesa at 65th minute of the match.

Chelsea also used all their three substitutes as Victor Moses, Danny Drinkwater and Eden Hazard came in the field in place of Zappacosta, Pedro and Willian. Alvaro Morata received an yellow card due to argument with the referee in the dying moment of the match. The match had ended with Chelsea winning with a margin of 1-0.

With this win, Chelsea have collected 29 points from 14 matches so far and are at the third position in the League Table. They will play against Newcastle in the weekend at Stamford Bridge in the next round of match of Premier League at Stamford Bridge.

Editor’s View: Champions Of England?

The win showcased the fact that the Blues were missing some of their top stars like Azpilicueta and Hazard, who started the game on the bench and that their squad is vulnerable too. The Londoners are trying to defend their league title and if they are not able to improve, it could be a problem for Conte’s future at the club, which was already in doubts in the past.

If the Italian manager wants to really stay with Chelsea, the results need to show and things need to improve. They need to start playing like real champions and beat the big teams that they will face off in the upcoming months.
