Breaking: Real Madrid Keen On Signing This Liverpool Star, Not Coutinho

Real Madrid

The European Champions are looking to bolster their striking options in the winter transfer window and have targeted their main-man for January, and he is none other than Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international has been in sizzling form since joining the Reds in the summer, leading the Premier League charts in terms of goals scored at the moment, which has drawn interest from Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid have not had a great start to their new campaign and are currently sitting in 4th place in the La Liga eight points behind leaders and fierce rivals Barcelona. This poor run of form is mainly due to the absence of Welshman Gareth Bale due to his injuries. And their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has not been in the rich vein of goal-scoring form as he usually is that has caused the Spanish league winners to drop points in crucial league encounters.

The Los Blancos are also reportedly preparing for the exit of the Portuguese starlet in the near future with Ronaldo now 33 years of now, as he may not be able to carry the burden of saving Madrid for too much longer. And with Salah’s rapid rise to stardom at Liverpool, Real Madrid will be looking to snap up the quick winger to replace either Bale or Ronaldo in the future.

Salah arrived at Anfield for a club record fee of £36.9m from the Italian capital, AS Roma in the summer and has gone on to score 17 goals and claiming four assists in 21 appearances (all competitions) with 12 goals coming in the Premier League. He has taken the League by storm and has been Liverpool’s best player this season so far. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been delighted with the signing of Salah and would be desperate to keep him at the Merseyside club in the next transfer window.

However, Egypt’s national team head coach Hector Cuper claims that he has already received an email stating Real Madrid’s interest in Salah. Cuper said, “I’ve received confirmed news revealing Real Madrid’s interest in Salah, but let’s not rush things, to me, he is in an amazing position right now.”  The 25-year-old forward also helped his national side qualify for the FIFA World Cup recently after scoring two goals in their fixture against Congo in the World Cup Qualifying stage.

The goal scoring and pace of the former Chelsea man has definitely drawn interest from the giants in Europe but Liverpool will have a big problem on their hands to keep a hold of Salah if he continues to progress in the way he is doing right now. Although Salah has penned a five-year deal with Liverpool, the clubs with deep pockets in Europe will be able to snatch him away for any amount of transfer funds that his buy-out clause demands.

With Real Madrid struggling at the moment they will make sure they do anything to land the best players in their prime, but Salah seems like a guy with his head on his shoulders and ready to work-hard with Liverpool at the moment.
