Deal Done: Liverpool Complete Deal For This High Quality Star

The Deal That Has Been Done!

Daniel Sturridge has officially left Liverpool to join West Bromwich Albion on loan for the remainder of the season. The move comes as a surprise as Liverpool have lost their last two matches failing to outscore their opponents. Jurgen Klopp may have made a big decision in letting out of form forward Daniel Sturridge leave the club and put finishing in the top 4 of the Premier League a bit more difficult. The Englishman has been struggling to get his spot back into the first team after constantly being hit by injuries in his career.

But at this time in his life, the 28-year-old should be at the top of his game and that has not happened due to the injury worries he has had. Sturridge has always had a stop-start career and as soon as he has begun to find form some or the other problem follows. As soon as he begins to make a recovery from an injury he has the misfortune of sustaining an injury in training. Since joining Liverpool in 2013, he has made just 98 appearances despite being one of the most highly rated strikers in the side.

On certain days, there is no denying the quality that Daniel Sturridge possesses, he has an unbelievably good left-foot and a genuine goal-scorer. His record for Liverpool has been immaculate; in those 98 appearances, he has managed 48 goals, averaging close to a goal every two games.

Due to his constant injury problems, Sturridge fell down the pecking order in Klopp’s side as the German boss picked Roberto Firmino as his main striker and false number nine. Dominic Solanke and Danny Ings have been the other two strikers that have been preferred over Sturridge by Klopp.

However, since losing Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool was dealt a huge blow as their talismanic midfielder moved to the Camp Nou, to join La Liga giants Barcelona. Coutinho was the driving force for Liverpool in attack and the Reds will certainly miss his goals and assists which would have helped them secure a European Champions League spot next season. And now losing Sturridge for the rest of the season would make it a more difficult task.

The English number nine has made 15 appearances for the club this season and frustratingly not managed to return to action since his thigh injury after coming off the bench against Spartak Moscow in their Champions League encounter.

The former Chelsea forward seems happy to join the club that put Liverpool out of the FA Cup this week. “This felt like the right fit,” Sturridge told the club’s official website.

“I’ve got friends here I’ve played with before, the manager spoke very well, the challenge with the team and the style of play . . . I just felt this was the right fit for me.”

There was a lot of speculation over Sturridge’s future this season and that has been out to rest, for now, Inter Milan and Sevilla were the other clubs interested in signing the talented forward. It may be a good move for Sturridge, who will want to book his place for England in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia and he will be eligible to play in the FA Cup since he hadn’t featured for the Merseyside club.
