Merseyside outfit Liverpool has now given an update on the future of these talented young stars. Cameron Brannagan has been shown the door as he leaves the Reds to join League One outfit Oxford United for an undisclosed fee. The 21 year old midfielder, who has been with the Merseyside club since he was 5 years old, has signed a three and half year contract with Oxford United which will run until 2021.

He was given his first opportunity to feature for the senior squad against Bordeaux in a group stage fixture of the UEFA Europa League by then Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

It is believed that Barcelona in the 2013/14 season had already sent scouts to watch him play and were also very keen to put up an offer for the exciting youth prospect.

Jurgen Kloop described Cameron Brannagan as real talent who has everything you need from a midfield player.

Ahead of his move Brannagan said ” it’s sad to be leaving Liverpool after such a long time but this is as really exciting challenge. Oxford play good football and i want to come here, play regular football, and help Oxford as much as i can”

“He has excellent technique, a good understanding of the game and a real hunger to do well.

Liverpool’s U23 midfielder Matty Virtue has signed for League two side Notts County FC on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The 20 year old is yet to make a first team appearance for the the first team but he is a regular starter for the under-23 side.

Virtue said “It is a massive opportunity for me, it is my first loan move – I’ve needed to come out to get games.”

“Coming to work with Kevin Nolan was a huge pull. I want to be a goalscoring midfielder and i think i can learn and progress a lot under him.”

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan also believes that Virtue can be a big hit and can certainly develop into a quality player given the right amount of time.

Nolan stressed that Virtue has not been bought in to replace Ryan Yates who was recalled midwaythrough the season by Nottingham Forest.

“We have not brought in a direct replacement fpr Ryan Yates, we’ve brought in Matty Virtue because he’s Matty Virtue,” Nolan added in his interview.

“Liverpool have left him out at a crucial time in his career. We’ve had some fantastic people recommend him to us, everybody who knows him said we’ve got a really good quality player.”
