Manchester United are looking to strengthen attack with the inclusion of this Leicester City superstar. The Red Devils are now interested Leicester City’s title winning hero Jamie Vardy, Jose Mourinho is keen on bolstering his front line and wants the 31 year old England international at the Old Trafford this month.
Manchester United are looking to relieve some pressure from £75m summer signing Lukaku and are hence looking for a proven goal scorer in the Premier League.
Vardy is on the three man shortlist along with Arsenal contract rebel Alexis Sanchez and former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
The Red Devils for now have only made an enquiry about the striker and Leicester would be tempted to accept an offer in the region of £35m to £40m.
Mourhino is keeping all his options open, United are said to be the front-runners in landing Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez as City have pulled out of the race for the Chilean due to his high wage demands.
Vardy in the past has rejected high money moves from Arsenal and is said to be happy at Leicester and does not want leave.
The former Real Madrid manager is said to have left with a short number of options in the attack and is desperately looking to get in a forward considering Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s age and fitness issues, United have only Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford who can play as a forward but they have limited capabilities to fill in centrally and are more comfortable playing on the wings hence getting Vardy males sense for the Red Devils.
The 31 year old is a different player from Romelu Lukaku but he can definitely guarantee goals, he is also eligible to play in the Champions league and hence will cost more than Sanchez and Javier Hernandez.
Hernandez is also unwanted at West Ham United as he has failed to live up to expectations this season. Newly appointed Hammers manager David Moyes is reluctant once again to trust Mexican international Javier Hernandez and is looking to get rid of him as soon as possible.
Moyes was unimpressed by Hernandez when he was in charge of the Red Devils back in 2013-2014 season, now once again he is his manager and his views are not changed a bit.
Who would be a better option?
JAMIE VARDY is a proven goal scorer in the Premier League and will definitely be a hit among United fans as he would have a lot of quality players surrounding him and his only job will be to finish of the chances he gets. He can also play in the Champions League and can be a pretty good alternative for Romelu Lukaku.
Javier Hernandez on the other hand is a cheaper option available in the market but not the best. Considering his recent form in the league he won’t bring in much to the table and will only be a dead wood at the club. The Mexican may thrive playing in a 4-4-2 formation but wouldn’t be much effective playing as a lone striker in Jose Mourhino’s preferable 4-2-3-1 formation.
