The Signing That Never Happened?
Inter Milan had unveiled their recent signing Yann Karamoh, as the star joined the Serie A side on loan from Caen FC. The 19-year-old caught the eye of many suitors across Europe including North-London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs but chose to play his football in Italy. The Premier league duo of Arsenal and Tottenham have not had a very successful transfer window each after failing to bring in massive quality in their ranks. And they lost out on Karamoh as well after the French striker joined Inter Milan.
Karamoh had an impressive campaign with Ligue 1 club FC Caen and in his debut season, he managed 35 appearances and also bagged 5 goals to his name as well as 4 assists. He was usually the first named player on the team-list whenever he was fit and available which came to many as a surprise.
At just 19, Karamoh plays football for his U-21’s side at the national level. Karamoh is a bright talent to watch out for in the future, he shot to fame with his explosiveness, hard-work, and versatility. The teenage sensation can play anywhere along the frontline and was linked with Arsenal as a possible replacement for want-away forward Alexis Sanchez.
But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger failed to secure a deal and Karamoh will now play football at the San Siro. And the Ivory-Coast born attacker stated his delight at signing for Inter Milan.
“I am very happy to have joined Inter,” “My inspiration is Neymar, he is my favorite player. I’ve chosen number 17. Forza Inter! “
“I hope to help the team achieve their objectives. We want to win the Scudetto. “For me it is a great opportunity. There are great players here and I’ve already seen ability in the first few games of the season.”
“My features? I’m quick and good at dribbling and changing pace. As for San Siro, I hope to adapt to it quickly. It will be a strange feeling because I often saw it on TV as a kid, hosting so many big games with so many great players.”
Arsenal’s Winter Transfer Window Update :
The prolific striker arrived in North-London as Arsenal completed a club record move for Aubameyang having spent £56m on the Gabonese international on transfer deadline day.
Upon arriving at the Emirates stadium, Aubameyang said, “I’m really happy to be here in this great team.
However, Dortmund agreed to sell their master marksman to the English side only after a deal for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan was agreed upon. Aubameyang won the DFL Super Cup with the German outfit two years in a row in 2013 and 2014 and also the German Cup in 2017. He was also the Bundesliga’s top scorer last season as he finished the campaign with 31 goals.
Aubameyang was on red-hot form this season as well as he was banging in goals regularly for the black and yellow’s but was eager to move away from the Signal Iduna Park as Dortmund were struggling this campaign. All in all, Aubameyang scored a staggering 141 goals in 213 appearances for Dortmund including 21 goals this season in 24 games. But the club grew frustrated with Aubameyang’s disciplinary actions and was keen to sell him this winter transfer window itself if a bid was reasonable.
