Latest Transfer Update On The Future Of This Star Striker Wanted By Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who had been in search of a quality midfielder since the summer window last time, was highly linked to Ligue 1 star Thomas Lemar. As the transfer process never stepped forward, it seems the Frenchman has decided to move to another choice.

A Frenchman to a Frenchman. Arsene Wenger has recently showed great interest to another France international. The attacking midfielder who had been sensational with his performance this season. With 21 goals and 6 assists in 31 appearances, this lad is becoming one of the shining star of Ligue 1. Nabil Fekir, the Lyon midfielder is in the list of Arsenal to cherish in the summer window next.

Arsenal need to tie him fast. He can be proved costly after the World Cup. Arsenal is preparing a bid of £45m to pen his signature as soon as possible. The Gunners had gone through breaking their tradition, splashing millions to bring in strikers like Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. So it won’t be a surprising scenario if the Gunners bid a huge money after the 24-year-old too.

It is reported that Spanish big names like Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested in the young midfielder. Though Arsenal is not a poor club at all with years of tradition and history, but may they fall short economically before clubs of this stature. So they should work fast to sign him before anyone else could.

Wenger has marked Fekir as one of the major summer target in spite of securing Ozil and signing Mkhitaryan from Manchester United. Senior scout Gilles Grimandi has been observing his progress closely over the last few months and he suggests to pick him before he leaves for Russia in June.

Fekir’s agent Jean Pierre Bernes has also ignited the rumour by saying, he can leave Lyon at summer and when he asked about his next move, he said, it would be too early to convey.

According to him, Fekir still has time. He needs to more concentrate in scoring goals rather than transfer rumours, and added, Fekir is already in a big club and he knows what to do next.

Prior to his Emirates days, Alexandre Lacazette enjoyed a colorful and fruitful partnership with Fekir. After his departure in 2017 his former partner has flourished with Lyon, and if the duo can settle at the Emirates, it would be a world class attacking force for Arsenal. Fekir is  world class dribbler and crosser of the ball. He is also capable of splitting defences with his incisive passes and through balls to break the lines in the final third.

Though Arsenal desperately needs a strong defensive backup rather than another attacking candidate upfront. Still if they can bring in Fekir, it would be another world class transfer news for the Gunners.

Arsenal are currently at sixth position in the table and look set to miss out on Champions League football again, unless they can rise all the way in the Europa League. Wenger’s side has also an opportunity to grab the silverware this week as they are gonna face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.
