Liverpool could have been the Champions of Premier League this season. The forward three of the Reds have already scored 50 goals in the league this season so far, where Mohamed Salah himself has done 28, who is also the leading scorer so far. With Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané alongside Salah Liverpool seemed a destructing force and easily qualified for the round of eight in Champions League. In spite of the given facts, they are only the 3rd place in the league, because of just their sloppy defense. Liverpool has conceded 34 goals in Premier League this season, highest by any team in top four spot. They lost quite a few important points unnecessarily in the early and mid season and now, Manchester City is 18 points clear from them. So the Premier League is ended for the Reds for now and they are eyeing the summer window to pick up some more ammunition for the next season.
A plenty of new and young talents are in targets of the Reds’ scouts. The list is big and full of potentials. In the forward half, Liverpool is targeting Leipzig young German Timo Werner. The Merseyside has been watching the forward for several years and now they may approach to pen him in. After the success in signing Naby Keita, Reds have turned their attention to Werner.
Already having one of the best attacking lineup in Premier League, the German manager wants to add yet more talent to his squad. Klopp believes only Roberto Firmino is as worthy of leading the line for his side upfront in future. As Danny Ings has failed to make any impression at Anfield since his joining back in 2015, neither Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge have did any events to break into the Liverpool squad and sent off on loan. The Reds are now expecting Werner despite knowing how tough it may gonna be to communicate with the German club after dealing the case of Keita.
Over the span of last two seasons, Werner has invited a ton of proposals to leave the German club. His stock has risen sky high and big names of Europe has already approached him. Manchester United and Arsenal are also in the hunt to pursue the 22-year-old striker. He has been impressive so far this season in Bundesliga. 17 goals and five assists so far in 35 appearances this season and 22 goals in the previous one demonstrate why all the big clubs are making noise of him. One of his great assets is speed and if he joins Liverpool, wouldn’t the Reds is gonna finally be the Red streak (flash)?
Werner’s current deal expires in 2022. When he was asked about his future in the German club after the goalless draw with Stuttgart he said how comfortable he is in Leipzig and he may not leave the club next year.
Werner made his debut for his country in 2017 Confederation Cup and is expected to present his country in the upcoming World Cup in Russia. RB Leipzig recently have beaten Bayern Munich with a margin of 2-1.
