Ace midfielder Paul Pogba has stated that he would relish playing alongside Brazilian superstar Neymar. This news comes after the Frenchman has been reportedly having issues with manager Jose Mourinho and possibly wants a move away from Manchester United.
Pogba was once awarded the best young talent in the world when he was at Juventus, but ever since he has made the move to Old Trafford, it hasn’t quite worked out for him and he has come under criticism from many of the United faithful. During the time of Sir Alex Ferguson, Pogba left Manchester United in 2012 after the legendary manager accused him of disrespecting the club and joined Serie A giants Juventus on a free transfer.
At Turin, Pogba helped the Italian outfit win four consecutive League titles as well as two Copa Italia’s and two Supercoppa Italiana titles and went on to become one of the most promising young midfielders alongside Italy great Andrea Pirlo. After these impressive displays at Juventus, United identified their mistake and brought back Pogba for a then world record fee of €105m. Although he has helped United in winning the League Cup as well as the Europa League, he has still looked unsettled since his second arrival at Old Trafford.
And most recently, to back his rather underwhelming return, Pogba has revealed his desire to play alongside Neymar, who is currently at Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain. Speaking to an Argentinian TV channel TyC Sport, the 25-year-old said, “Yes, Neymar. I like him. He has the definition of happiness on the pitch. In Brazil football is everything, it’s life in Brazil. Everyone plays football. I love to see him on the pitch playing, with his technique and his ability. It’s a different style. When you say the world Neymar around the world, everyone knows who he is and what he does. Therefore if I could play with him one day it would be a pleasure.”
These statements have certainly sparked a possible move for Pogba back to his native country, with a potential move to PSG. The French giants are in dire need to replace the aging midfield general Thiago Motta and could look at Pogba as his successor. Even Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is on the lookout for a different club for his client according to inside news reports.
Although United manager Jose Mourinho did once sell David Luiz to PSG during his second spell as Chelsea boss, he may be tempted to do the same with Pogba who looks absolutely disinterested in playing for the English giants. His passes have looked too casual and he looks like he is playing more for himself than for the team. If he wants to play alongside Neymar, he means to say that he too would love to showboat on the pitch just to show off his skills.
I think Manchester United should get rid of Pogba because he doesn’t look like he wants to play for Mourinho, he does not seem like he puts in any work in training and should be sold in the next transfer window.
