Arsenal Get Update On Chelsea And Liverpool’s Defensive Target’s Future

Maybe the only mainstream club in England who believes in youngsters and shape them to build a future superstar. The Gunners have done this generation after generation and scouting a young talent is their own speciality. The summer window is coming near and Arsenal needs new defensive reinforcements. According to the sources, Arsenal have been linked with Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu, who is also the cup of interests of other sides like Chelsea and Liverpool.

Though the news claim the Gunners are one step ahead than any other sides to sign the Turkish international centre-back. As the European forces like Manchester City, Manchester United and AS Roma keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, it seems how importance this guy has been appealed to the world football. Soyuncu’s performance has been sensational in Bundesliga as he got promotion in his national team. The defender played against Ireland last week, where Arsenal scouts were on watching duty. Freiburg is trying their best to keep him in but a deal of £30m may place enough depth to think twice. Whether Arsenal would pay this much money for a young lad is still in fog, but conversations about the possibility of Soyuncu leaving Germany to join the Gunners had been done once last week.

The Turkish defender started his senior career with Altinordu S.K. This side play in the second tier of Turkish football. Soyuncu made his debut as a teenager and successfully made more than 30 appearances for the first-team before earning himself a move to Germany. He moved to Freiburg in 2016. The Bundesliga side earned him amidst the competition from Sevilla and Besiktas to sign the defender from second division Altinordu for just £2.4m.

Though he started shaky at Freiburg, struggled with the intensity and counter attacking plays in Bundesliga and gave away two penalties in his first two months. Soon he learned from surroundings settling himself in the pace of German Football and guided himself to be one of the best young defenders in the league. Soyuncu is physically strong and at 6ft 2inch he can cope well with any aerial balls. But his pace is his ace. It allows him to have excellent recovery capabilities. When he was asked about the settlement in German football he said that he he had learnt a lot and added that it was a puzzle for him, which he had to solve by own. The German club has said that he is not for sale but a handsome offer may able to tie the bell.

The current season never went well for the Gunners, while they might not get a chance to finish in top 4. Arsenal seems sloppy and struggling at 6th position with 8 points behind from Chelsea in 5th position in Premier League. The Gunners don’t seem to get the tickets of Champions League next season until they win the Europa this term, where they looked strong last time beating AC Milan, reaching in Round of eight. Fans are already furious by their performance in English League and want a fresh start.
