Chelsea Seem Helpless, As Manchester United Looks To Poach Another One Of Their Big Stars

This could be one of the most shocking transfers ever in the recent history if it goes through. Manchester United are keen on signing Chelsea superstar Willian in order to challenge for the title next season. The Blues reportedly willing to sell another superstar to their most hated Premier League rivals. It seems like the Chelsea board are not learning from their mistakes in terms of transferring star players to oppositions. The Blues sold their key midfield man Nemanja Matic to United last season for a fee of just £40m. Matic was one the best players for Chelsea as he stuck the attack and defense together for the London club. He was the man who influenced Chelsea’s midfield and played an integral part in Chelsea winning the title. And it came as a shock to the footballing world that he was sold to fierce rivals but are they in line to sign another of Chelsea’s best?

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that he would want to sign the former Shakhtar Donetsk man in order to add more dynamism in his attacking department. The Portuguese boss has been a massive admirer of the Brazilian international even when the duo worked together at Stamford Bridge. Despite having the likes of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford as attacking options, the ‘Special One’ wants another forward player so he could offload either one at his disposal.

According to reports, however, the one United player that seems to have an uncertain future at Old Trafford is Spanish midfielder, Juan Mata. The 29-year-old will be out of contract next future which has created uncertainty about his whereabouts in the next few transfer markets.

Mata also worked with Mourinho at Chelsea before he was kept on the bench by the 55-year-old manager which eventually saw the two work together again at Manchester United. He arrived back in 2014 from the Blues and has made over 180 appearances for the Red Devils scoring and assisting a valuable 71 times altogether. Mata is yet to agree to a contract extension and there are rumors that he could leave the Manchester outfit in the summer.

Which is all the more reason for United to line up another formidable winger, and they have identified that player to be none other than Chelsea’s best player this season, Willian. Since arriving in West London from Anzhi back in 2013 and has been ever so consistent for Chelsea. In 228 games so far, Willian has netted a more than decent value of 82 times. However, on a current basis of form, he is one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment. The Brazilian is reportedly unhappy and wants to move away from Chelsea with United as a possible destination.

Willian could cost around £37.4m, which in this market is quite a steal, he has been the best performer for Antonio Conte scoring 13 times so far this season and has was also the standout performer against Barcelona although Chelsea was knocked out by the La Liga giants.
