It has been 15 years by now. The last title came in 2003-04 for them. The football club of North London never held the league title for a decade and now maybe the tolerance got its peak. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been regarded the gentleman of English League. He was the first man to bring in system based practice and game plan, but no one can’t simply overlook his failure to deliver the major trophies in recent years. Arsenal are the leaders in winning the FA cup, but this year, they are knocked out from there too and now the time may be came to change the manager.
Many world class managers are in contact with the Emirates management including the German maestro Joachim Low. Arsenal need someone who can build them from the root where Low would be perfect, but there are others too. The former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel is also linked heavily with Arsenal in the recent rumours. Though according to the sources Arsenal are not the only who are targeting this German, there is Spanish club Atletico Bilbao too.
Tuchel had an average statistical career in Borussia with only one trophy two seasons. He lead his side to win the DFB Pokal in his last season but failed to win Bundesliga. He was sacked after then and out of work since May last year. Reports came from Germany that, the Gunners have been selected this 44-year-old as the one to replace Arsene Wenger and he may join from the Summer. Premier League rivals Chelsea is also going through the same stage where the Italian manager Antonio Conte may face sack after this season. With Chelsea in line and new links of Atletico Bilbao, Arsenal may face a stiff challenge to sign the German’s managerial contract. Bilbao has been sloppy this season and Jose Angel Ziganda may be shown the exit gate this summer, where Tuchel could be the man to replace this 51-year-old man and rebuild the faults.
There are not too many positive points regarding the arrival of Tuchel at Emirates. The Gunners may need the polar opposite of Wenger, where outspoken, mean and strict coach would do them a world of good. Tuchel is the man who believes in raising a youngstar to stardom. Players like Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock would do just well. Tuchel epitomizes the stereotypical modern-day manger. He is kind hearted, supportive, soft spoken and a fun guy, though this nature may not suit at Emirates. Arsenal need title desperately, the players need to be tamed well, can this Gentleman (again!) do that?
Managers like Massimiliano Allegri or Carlo Ancelotti are also in Arsenal’s radar, it is only time which will clearly reveal who is gonna get that throne at Emirates!
Arsenal are now at 6th position in Premier League points table with 48 points, having no clear chance to finish in top four. They are gonna face Stoke City upnext in Premier League on 1st of next month. The Gunners will go trophy less if they get out in Europa League, where they have comfortably succeeded in the Round Of Eight, where they will face CSKA Moscow.
