Manchester United And Tottenham Get Major Update In The Hunt To Sign English Sensation, With Mourinho Keen To Sign

Premier League duo of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a mammoth blow after realizing that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain are keen on signing Fulham star, left-back Ryan Sessegnon. The young sensation currently plays in the Championship and has attracted a lot of interest from top clubs with his impressive performances for the west London outfit, due to which Jose Mourinho has been keen on bringing him to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been eager and desperate to sign a left-back for quite a while with Luke Shaw being rather banished by United boss Jose Mourinho. Despite Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian doing a fairly decent job in the wing-back roles so far, the ‘Special One’ is still keen on bringing in a high-quality defender to stabilize his left-back spot for a long time. The 17-year-old Englishman can add a huge boost for the Red Devils in attack as well because he has scored plenty of goals for Fulham as well so far.

Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Sessegnon as the North London side are keen on trying to bolster their squad in order to fight for the Premier League title next season. However, Spurs always fall short when it comes to defending. Having lost Danny Rose due to injury for a major part of this season, Spurs weren’t able to find a solid left-back in Welsh replacement Ben Davies, who took a while to settle into Mauricio Pochettino’s system initially. Therefore, Spurs are on the look-out for another left-back who can fill in the void if Danny Rose leaves the club in the summer.

Sessegnon has been having an astonishing season so far and has helped Fulham to third place in the Championship table. Due to his unbelievable showings in the attack, the 17-year-old was promoted to the left wing position where he could express himself further in attack and Sessegnon has flourished and grown from strength to strength. At just 17, Sessegnon has already established himself as one of the best wing-back’s in the country drawing comparisons to England legend Ashley Cole and even Bayern Munich star David Alaba. Sessegnon spent eight seasons in is youth career at Fulham and then made his senior debut back in 2016. This season Sessegnon has already scored 15 goals and notched up six assists. He is also versatile which allows him to play as a midfielder as well. Fulham currently value Sessegnon at £50m, but with other suitors, that fee could rise significantly.

All these special outings have also drawn interest from French club Paris Saint Germain, who are eyeing Sessegnon as a long term replacement for Layvin Kurzawa, who is prone to the common error now and again. Although Manchester United and Tottenham are interested in Sessegnon, the English club is well aware of the deep pockets at the French capital club and will not be able to compete with their powerful spending.

According to me, I don’t think that Sessegnon should make a move so early in his career, probably at a lower league he is able to put in great performances but at a higher level, it will be a more difficult task. So maybe stay with Fulham and gain experience for a while before rushing into joining a bigger club.
