The Red Devil’s are eager to reinforce their squad with quality players after losing out on the domestic league to Manchester City. Manchester United are targeting young Scottish International Kieran Tierney. José Mourhino wants to bring in a new natural left back after a recent fallout with England international Luke Shaw. Ashley Young is often forced to play out of his natural position and the Portuguese wants to rectify this mistake by getting in the young Celtic star.
Tierney however insists that he is only focused on his current team Celtic and is not prepared to make a statement about his future yet.
Manchester United scouts have been spotted several times at the Celtic Park, 18 months to be precise as they have been monitoring the 20 year olds progress into a good dependable first team player.
Manchester United boss Mourhino was very keen to watch Kieran Tierney on national duty against Costa Rica couple of months ago but was handed disappointment as the young Brit was forced to pull out of the encounter due to an injury. But the Portuguese still went ahead to watch Manchester United academy graduate Scott McTominay receive his first international cap.
Scouts from Manchester United were present at the highly anticipated game in Scotland as Cletic were prepared to take on arch rivals Rangers. Kieran Tierney despite the knowledge of an intrest from one of England’s biggest Club was not bothered as he has recently signed a 6 year contract with the club which will run out in 2023.
The Scottish International spoke to a media outlet and said “I’m not thinking about anyone other than Celtic just now,”
“I’m enjoying my career here; I’ve just signed a six year deal, so if that doesn’t say long term, i don’t know what does”
The Red Devil’s are in the market to sign a left back in the summer transfer window. Luke Shaw’s Manchester United career is pretty much over after a fresh fallout with the gaffer last month.
The ex Real Madrid manager said that Luke would be at Old Trafford for a long period of time. However their love and hate relationship mostly hate may come to an end this summer after Shaw’s horrendous showcase against Brighton in the FA cup quater finals saw José Mourhino exchange a few words of wisdom to the lad in tunnel and saw him subbed after the first half.
The former Southampton left back has failed to feature even once for Manchester United since then. Failing to even make the bench, This just shows how pissed José is from the England international and may look to offload him in the summer.
Luke Shaw at 22 years of age will not be short of suitors and if United get a enticing offer at the table they might just go ahead and sell him. Manchester United have faced a recent defeat against Brighton and Hove Athletic in the Premier League and the fans will be eager for the reinforcements in the next season to improve the situation.
