The Red Devils are set to offer Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale a massive £30m a year contract in order to lure him to Old Trafford this summer transfer window. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is a massive admirer of the Welshman and desperately wants to secure his services.
Bale arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur back in 2013 for a then world record transfer fee of €100.8m. Ever since making the move to the Spanish capital, Bale has helped Madrid to win one La Liga title, One Copa Del Rey as well as four Champions League titles. The fiery quick forward scored two stunning goals against Liverpool in the Champions League final as well including a sensational overhead kick after coming off the bench.
However, this season, Bale has found himself mainly restricted to appearances from the bench because former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane preferred to use young Spanish talents like Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez, and Isco Alcaron ahead of Bale. And although Bale initially struggled with fitness for the earlier part of the campaign, he found it difficult to get back into the starting eleven at Madrid.
And after the final against Liverpool in Kiev, Bale shocked the footballing world by hinting that he would leave the club if he did not get to play regular football. That post-match interview alerted a hoard of top clubs across the continent that have been monitoring Bale’s situation over the past few weeks.
Bale began his career at Southampton and was then picked up by Spurs for an initial fee of £7m in 2007. During his time at North London Bale began to play in a more attacking role after starting out as a left-back. His progress was steep and quick which made him one of the key members for Spurs but all those impressive outings were observed by Madrid who then decided to make him a Galactico.
Jose Mourinho has desperately stated before that he needs a high-quality winger in his Manchester United side if the Red Devils are to compete for the Premier League title against fierce and local rivals Manchester City. The ‘Special One’ wants to create history with United and wants to bring back the glory days to the Theater Of Dreams.
It is reported that United are willing to offer Bale a mouthwatering offer which would make the 28-year-old winger the highest paid player in the Premier League. The deal could see Bale earning a salary of £577,000-a-week. This could make Bale earn an annual salary of around €35 million (£30 million).
To add to that, Real Madrid has put a price tag of a minimum €150 million (£132 million) in order for Bale to sign for Manchester United or any other club. United are currently favorites to sign Bale but will face stiff competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich as the German giants are also keen on bringing Bale to the Allianz Arena to replace the aging Arjen Robben. Now we have to wait till the end of the summer transfer window to see if any deal finalized or not.
